You’ll be involved in: • Managing the commercial performance of highways and civil engineering projects., • Preparing valuations, applications for payment and cost reports., • Identifying, pricing and managing variations and compensation events., • Monitoring project costs, forecasts, margins and cash flow., • Managing subcontractor procurement, accounts and payments., • Reviewing contracts and identifying commercial risks and opportunities., • Working closely with Contracts Managers, Project Managers and operational teams., • Ensuring completed works are accurately measured and commercially recovered., • Supporting tender handovers and reviewing project budgets., • Managing contractual correspondence and maintaining appropriate commercial records., • Negotiating and agreeing final accounts., • Providing clear commercial information to senior management throughout project delivery. We're interested in speaking with Quantity Surveyors from backgrounds including: Highways | Surfacing | Road Construction | Civil Engineering | Infrastructure | Groundworks | Utilities | S278 Works | Public Realm | Term Maintenance You’ll ideally bring: • Previous Quantity Surveying experience within civil engineering or infrastructure., • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of project profitability., • Experience managing valuations, variations and final accounts., • Knowledge of subcontractor procurement and commercial management., • Experience working with NEC contracts would be particularly valuable., • Confidence working directly with operational teams and clients., • Strong negotiation and communication skills., • The ability to manage multiple projects and competing commercial priorities., • A practical understanding of how works are actually delivered on site. Formal Quantity Surveying qualifications are advantageous, but relevant highways/civils commercial experience is more important than having the perfect academic background.
