    Syed Solicitors Ltd | Ilford, London Salary: £33,400 per annum Hours: 37.5 hours per week Proposed Start Date: December 2026 Role summary Syed Solicitors Ltd is seeking a junior paralegal to support its immigration, asylum, human rights and Tribunal work. The role includes appeals, pre-action protocol (PAP) correspondence and administrative reviews. The successful candidate will prepare and progress work under the principal solicitor’s supervision; they will not provide independent legal advice or make final legal decisions. Responsibilities 1. Assist with the day-to-day progression of immigration, asylum, human rights and appeal files under the principal solicitor’s supervision., 2. Take client instructions, prepare accurate attendance notes and maintain organised electronic case files., 3. Review decisions and evidence, identifying missing documents and legal, procedural or evidential issues for the solicitor’s attention., 4. Research the Immigration Rules, legislation, case law, Home Office guidance and relevant country evidence as directed., 5. Prepare first drafts of applications, witness statements, representations, appeal grounds and correspondence for solicitor review., 6. Assist with PAP correspondence and administrative reviews, including gathering evidence and preparing draft submissions for the solicitor’s review and approval., 7. Prepare indexed appeal bundles and other First-tier Tribunal hearing documents., 8. Monitor Home Office and Tribunal directions and deadlines, promptly escalating action required., 9. Use MyHMCTS, as authorised, to upload documents, review directions and monitor appeals., 10. Liaise with barristers, chambers and expert witnesses, providing instructions and case documents approved by the supervising solicitor and assisting with expert evidence and hearing preparation., 11. Communicate with clients, the Home Office and HMCTS within the scope of the role, referring requests for substantive legal advice to the solicitor., 12. Work with the legal team to progress matters while maintaining accurate, confidential records. Essential requirements • An LLB or equivalent recognised law degree., • Some relevant immigration, asylum, human rights or litigation casework experience, including supervised work or a placement., • Working knowledge of the Immigration Rules and relevant immigration, asylum and human rights principles., • Familiarity with First-tier Tribunal procedure and the applicable Immigration and Asylum Chamber Practice Direction., • Ability to research legal and evidential issues, take accurate instructions and draft clear case documents., • Ability to manage competing tasks and deadlines under solicitor supervision., • Professional written and spoken English, and fluency in spoken Urdu and/or Hindi to assist clients who use those languages., • Confidence using digital files and office software, with the ability to learn MyHMCTS and legal case-management systems., • Understanding of confidentiality, data protection and responsible use of approved legal technology. Desirable requirements • Experience with First-tier Tribunal appeals, MyHMCTS, PAP correspondence or administrative reviews., • Experience preparing skeleton arguments, appeal bundles or instructions for expert evidence., • Experience in a regulated UK legal-services or immigration practice, or with Clio, LEAP or comparable software., • Progress towards the SQE, LPC, BTC/BPC or an equivalent professional qualification.     Mobile Tyre Fitter Job Description Job Title: Mobile Tyre Fitter / Mobile Tyre Technician Location: East London Reporting to Manager Employment Type: Full-time, Temporary with progression to Permanent Job Purpose The Mobile Tyre Fitter delivers high-quality tyre replacement, repair, and roadside assistance services directly to customers at their homes, workplaces, or stranded roadside locations. Operating from a fully equipped mobile service van, you will act as the face of the company, ensuring a safe, efficient, and professional experience for every customer. Key Responsibilities and Duties 1. Technical & Service Delivery Remove, refit, repair, and balance tyres on cars, vans, and light commercial vehicles. Conduct accurate tyre safety inspections, checking tread depth, wear patterns, and inflation pressures. Assess tyre damage to determine if a safe repair is possible under national safety standards or if a replacement is required. Ensure all locking wheel nuts and vehicle components are handled safely and re-torqued to manufacturer specifications. 1. Mobile Fleet & Asset Management Drive and maintain a company-allocated mobile service vehicle in compliance with road safety laws. Conduct daily pre-journey van inspections (fluid levels, lights, tyre condition). Keep the mobile unit clean, organized, and stocked with adequate tyre inventory and consumables. Maintain all onboard specialist tools, including jacks, air compressors, and portable balancing machines. 1. Customer Service & Communication Travel efficiently to scheduled and emergency call-out appointments within your designated area. Provide professional advice to customers regarding tyre maintenance, safety standards, and legal requirements. Process payments on-site and accurately complete digital job sheets, risk assessments, and invoices via a company mobile device. 1. Health, Safety & Compliance Strictly adhere to health and safety regulations, particularly when working at the roadside or in public spaces. Correctly deploy safety equipment, including high-visibility clothing, cones, and beacons. Safely dispose of worn or damaged tyres in accordance with environmental policies. Requirements, Qualifications & Experience Experience: Minimum of 1 - 3 years of tyre-fitting experience (experience operating a mobile service van is highly desirable but not mandatory). Licence: A valid, clean UK driving licence is required. Physical Fitness: Capability to meet the physical demands of the role, including regular lifting of tyres and heavy equipment. Technical Skills: Confident operating wheel balancers, tyre changers, and electronic diagnostic or tracking tools. Soft Skills: Strong time-management skills, a polite customer-facing manner, and the ability to work independently without direct supervision. Working Conditions & Benefits Hours: Standard shift patterns, which may include rotational weekends and participation in an on-call emergency rota.
