Circa: Salary - Salary Plan, 37,556.00 GBP Annual We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Education Coordinator to support our strategic goals through regional engagement across Scotland. You’ll work closely with educators, members and stakeholders to promote chemistry education and ensure our programmes align with the Scottish curriculum. As part of our education team, you’ll collaborate with internal and external partners, contribute to key education projects, and develop and deliver targeted support for local teachers and technicians. You’ll also help build relationships across the region and represent our organisation at relevant events. This role will require extensive travel throughout Scotland, including attending and running events for teachers and student teachers, working with members and meeting key education contacts. As a guide, this may require travel twice a week, dependent on the academic timetable, and may involve weekends and non-core working hours. Responsibilities: * Project management and delivery of projects developed specifically to support our local education community needs in line with our strategy * Understand needs of teachers to inform our support * Deliver support to the teachers, for example, networks, online sessions * Advise teachers and schools in utilising our range of products and services to support their teaching * Commission support from other teams * Act as an advocate for best practice for local curricula, providing guidance and advice to colleagues and partners to improve the impact and outcomes of our services * Champion and advise on local curricula to ensure our education programmes remain relevant to all teachers across the UK and Ireland * Develop successful partnerships and relationships with organisations and education stakeholders in the nation to support delivery of the plans. * Delivery of key projects on a local basis including: * Introducing our support to teachers at the start of their career through delivering sessions to student and trainee teachers. * Developing successful partnerships and relationships with organisations and education stakeholders in the region to support delivery of our programmes. * Engaging with our local members to act as advocates for chemistry, showcasing best practice in schools engagement activities. What we are looking for: * A degree in science, preferably in the chemical sciences, or an equivalent qualification, together with evidence of working with schools, ideally with a teaching qualification. * An understanding of school level, further and higher education and a breadth of knowledge of the education systems in the UK and Ireland together with a deep knowledge of the local curricula. * An understanding of customer requirements, including those of: school teachers; school students; FE teachers, HE academics and support staff; HE students; careers advisors; employers; governments and its agencies, and non-government bodies. * Good project management, communication, team working and presentation skills and experience and the ability to work independently. * Experience of stakeholder relationship management.
