Job Title: Mechanical Fitter Contract Role – 6 months initially Location: Acton, West London Hourly Rate: £39.24 p/hour - Inside IR35 Working Hours: Day Shift About the Role: We are currently recruiting experienced Mechanical Fitters to work on a significant project at a renowned railway engineering facility in Acton, West London. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the S Stock upgrade works in the rail industry. The role offers a competitive hourly rate of £39.24 and a chance to work on high-profile projects within the rail sector. Key Responsibilities: • Reading and following detailed work instructions and component assembly drawings, • Using a variety of hand tools, bearing press, and power tools, • Setting and using a Torque Wrench, including witness marking, • Operating overhead cranes and workshop equipment (training will be provided), • Using basic measuring tools, including Vernier calipers, micrometers, and rulers, • Maintaining complex systems and machinery to the highest standards Requirements: • Level 3 Mechanical qualification (or equivalent), • Strong experience in using hand tools, bearing press, and power tools, • Ability to read and follow technical drawings and work instructions, • Experience with torque wrenches and understanding of witness marking principles, • Ability to use basic measuring tools accurately, • Previous experience in the rail industry or similar sectors is desirable but not essential We can only consider applications from those eligible to work in the UK for this role.
