Residential Support Worker An excellent opportunity for a compassionate Residential Support Worker to support women within an approved premises, helping residents build confidence, independence, wellbeing and life skills. SALARY: Circa £29,000 per annum + Benefits JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent LOCATION: Bristol, South West England (BS16) WORKING HOURS: 12 hour shifts 4 shifts on, 4 shifts off, rotating: 2 x Day Shifts (08:00 - 20:00), 2 x Night Shifts (20:00 - 08:00) JOB OVERVIEW The organisation is looking for compassionate, resilient people who want a career where their work genuinely changes lives. Working as the Residential Support Worker, you will support women as they leave prison or complete a community sentence, helping them build confidence, develop life skills and take positive steps towards a safer, more independent future. As the Residential Support Worker, you will join a dedicated team within a Criminal Justice Approved Premises for women in Bristol, supporting up to 26 residents as they transition back into the community. Many of the women you will support have experienced significant trauma, complex life circumstances and multiple disadvantages. This is an opportunity to become someone who believes in people when they need it most. DUTIES Your duties as the Residential Support Worker will include: • Resident Support: Build positive, professional relationships with residents and provide encouragement, consistency and guidance, • Life Skills and Wellbeing: Deliver daily living skills, wellbeing, leisure and creative sessions that help residents develop confidence and independence, • Resident Inductions: Welcome and induct new residents into the approved premises, helping them understand the environment, expectations and available support, • Safe Living Environment: Promote a safe, supportive and respectful living environment for residents, colleagues and visitors, • Welfare and Building Checks: Carry out regular welfare and building checks in line with procedures, • Confidential Records: Record important information accurately and maintain confidential records, • Challenging Situations: Respond calmly to challenging situations and provide appropriate support, • Partnership Working: Work alongside criminal justice and support agencies to help residents achieve positive outcomes, • Safety Responsibilities: Act as Fire Warden and First Aider when required CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS Essential • Due to the gender-specific nature of this role, applications can only be accepted from women candidates.
