About the Role Cambridgeshire County Council is seeking an experienced and motivated Social Worker to join our fast-paced Assessment Team in Ely.Our Assessment Teams are lively, dynamic, and committed to delivering high-quality, timely support to children, young people, and families across the community. You will work in an environment where the pace is fast, the work is varied, and multi-agency collaboration is central to achieving strong outcomes. Due to the immediate nature of assessment work, you will often see positive change quickly. Key Responsibilities • Complete timely assessments of children and families, in line with statutory guidance and local procedures., • Manage a diverse caseload, ensuring all work is prioritised effectively and completed within required timescales., • Undertake Section 17 and Section 47 enquiries, gathering and analysing information to make informed decisions about risk and safety., • Work collaboratively with partner agencies including health, education, police, and voluntary services to ensure joined-up, child-centred support., • Produce clear, evidence-based reports for a variety of forums, including case conferences, legal planning meetings and court (when required)., • Develop and implement effective plans that safeguard children and promote positive outcomes., • Engage children, young people, and families in a meaningful and respectful way, ensuring their voices influence assessment and decision-making., • Maintain accurate, up-to-date case records in line with council standards and statutory requirements., • Contribute to team meetings, reflective discussions, and service development.
