About the Role Walsall Council is seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Social Worker to join its Children's Safeguarding service on a temporary basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled practitioner who is confident in managing complex cases and committed to achieving positive outcomes for children and families. Responsibilities • Hold and manage a varied and complex caseload in line with statutory requirements., • Undertake high-quality assessments, direct work, and intervention planning to safeguard children at risk of harm., • Lead on child protection processes, including Section 47 enquiries, Initial Child Protection Conferences, and Child in Need planning., • Produce timely, evidence-based reports for court proceedings and multi-agency meetings., • Work collaboratively with families, partner agencies, schools, health services, and other professionals to promote children's safety and wellbeing., • Provide professional guidance, support, and mentoring to less experienced team members., • Is a qualified Social Worker with SWE registration., • Has strong experience within children's safeguarding, child protection, and complex casework., • Brings excellent assessment, communication, and analytical skills., • Can work under pressure while delivering high-quality, child-centred practice., • Is confident in partnership working and multi-agency coordination.
