Instead, it offers: · A quality-led operation – Engineering supports premium product standards where precision and care matter · Strong capital investment – Modern equipment, ongoing upgrades, and a clear focus on reliability and efficiency · Balanced workload – A mix of planned maintenance, reactive support, and improvement activity · Genuine engineering influence – Engineers are involved in problem-solving and long-term reliability improvements, not just breakdown response · Stable, well-run environment – Low drama, structured, and professionally managed maintenance function · Varied technology – From legacy systems to highly automated, PLC-driven production lines Key Responsibilities · Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across production and packaging assets · Respond effectively to breakdowns, diagnosing and resolving mechanical and electrical faults · Work across pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems · Support installation, commissioning, and modification of new and existing equipment · Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, uptime, and efficiency · Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and engineering safety standards (GMP / HACCP) · Accurately record maintenance activity using CMMS systems About You We are looking for a hands-on, solutions-focused engineer who enjoys working in a fast-paced but controlled manufacturing environment. You will likely have: · Recognised engineering qualification (Level 3 NVQ, HNC or equivalent) · Strong multi-skilled capability (electrical and mechanical fault-finding) · Experience within FMCG, food, packaging, or similar regulated manufacturing · Confident fault diagnosis on automated production equipment · A proactive mindset with a focus on prevention and continuous improvement · Strong communication skills and a team-oriented approach What’s on Offer · Salary of £58,000 + bonus · Excellent pension scheme · Ongoing technical training and development · Exposure to modern automation and continuous improvement projects · Long-term stability within a well-established, respected manufacturer
