Commercial Project Manager\n Contract Length: 12 months (Maternity cover)\n Location: Fully remote (option to work from office in Newcastle upon Tyne) \n Pay Rate: £40 per hour outside IR35\n\nWe are supporting an established organisation operating in the renewable energy services sector to appoint an experienced Commercial Project Manager on a contract basis.\n\nThis role offers the chance to take real commercial ownership of a portfolio of long‑term service contracts, supporting the ongoing operation and performance of onshore renewable assets across the UK. It is a genuinely autonomous, remote‑first role with strong exposure to senior stakeholders and meaningful commercial responsibility.\n\nThe Opportunity\n\nAs Commercial Project Manager, you will act as the commercial partner to Operations, overseeing the financial performance, risk, and contractual position of multiple live service contracts. Projects vary in size and complexity, ranging from smaller single‑site agreements to large, multi‑million‑pound portfolios with major energy providers.\n\nThis role would suit a qualified accountant with strong project or commercial finance experience who enjoys working closely with operational teams and managing long‑term contracts rather than short‑term delivery.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nCommercial ownership of a portfolio of 15-30 long‑term service contracts\nFull P&L responsibility, including forecasting, cost control, and margin management\nIdentification and management of commercial risk and opportunity\nPartnering closely with Operations to support effective contract delivery\nOversight of financial performance across contracts of varying size and value\nStakeholder engagement with internal teams and external customers\nSupporting contract management activities, including variations and commercial issuesSkills & Experience Required\n\nFully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA)\nProven experience in a commercial, project, or finance business‑partnering role\nStrong understanding of P&L management, forecasting, and financial controls\nExperience managing multiple projects or contracts simultaneously\nConfident communicator, comfortable working with operational and senior stakeholders\nAble to work autonomously in a remote environment\nBackground in renewables, energy, infrastructure, or long‑term service contracts\nExperience with asset‑based or operations‑led environments\nExposure to higher‑value, long‑duration commercial contracts\nFamiliarity with NEC or similar contract frameworks (not essential)Please note: Due to the high volume of applications, only successful candidates will be contacted.
