This role sits within a structured and expanding specialist setting focused on delivering high-quality outcomes, strong behaviour standards, and clear progression pathways for learners. About the SEMH Teaching Assistant Role: As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will provide direct support to Post-16 learners with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs. You will work within a defined framework, supporting structured learning, reinforcing behaviour expectations, and contributing to measurable progress in line with performance and outcome targets. Key Responsibilities as SEMH Teaching Assistant: Targeted Support: Deliver focused one-to-one and small-group support aligned with individual learning and behaviour plans. Behaviour Management: Apply consistent, structured strategies to maintain control, focus, and engagement. Routine & Structure: Reinforce clear expectations, transitions, and daily routines across the provision. Progress Monitoring: Track engagement, behaviour, and outcomes in line with KPI frameworks. Professional Coordination: Work efficiently with teaching staff, leadership, and external professionals to maintain standards.To succeed as an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will need: Experience in SEMH, SEN, Post-16, or alternative provision settings. A strong presence with clear, direct communication. Confidence managing behaviour through structured and consistent approaches. An organised, proactive, and outcome-focused mindset. Understanding of safeguarding and performance-driven environments.
