Electrical Supervisor / Working Supervisor – Water Sector Region: South West (covering South West Water sites) Role Overview We’re looking for an experienced Electrical Supervisor / Working Supervisor to oversee, co-ordinate, and deliver electrical installation and maintenance works on clean and wastewater assets across the South West. You’ll lead small site teams, ensure safe and compliant delivery, and get hands-on when required—ideal for someone who thrives in a mix of supervision, technical problem-solving, and site-based work. Key Responsibilities Supervision & Site Leadership Oversee day-to-day electrical works on live water-sector sites. Lead and support electricians, subcontractors, and specialist suppliers. Plan, co-ordinate, and deliver work packs, permits, and site briefings. Ensure safe working practices and compliance with all site rules and standards. Technical Delivery Carry out hands-on electrical installation, testing, fault-finding, and commissioning. Review and interpret drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation. Ensure installations comply with BS7671, WIMES standards, and water-industry requirements. Support MCC, LV distribution, motor, pump, and instrumentation-related tasks. Safety & Compliance Prepare or contribute to RAMS, permits, and site safety documentation. Conduct toolbox talks, inspections, and audits to maintain a safe working environment. Report incidents, near misses, and improvement opportunities promptly and professionally. Planning & Co-ordination Work with engineers and project managers to deliver tasks on programme. Liaise with site operators, permitting teams, and other stakeholders. Maintain daily records, progress updates, and material/equipment logs. Skills & Experience Required Proven experience as an Electrical Supervisor, Working Supervisor, Lead Electrician, or similar in utilities or industrial sectors. Strong working knowledge of LV electrical systems, pumps, motors, panels, and process equipment. Comfortable supervising small teams and managing day-to-day site activities. Confident working on operational clean and wastewater sites. Good communication skills and the ability to work with multiple stakeholders. Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the South West. Qualifications NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation or equivalent. 18th Edition (BS7671). ECS/CSCS card. SSSTS/SMSTS (or willingness to obtain). COMPEX, EUSR, confined space, or water-industry training desirable
