The Opportunity We are looking for a Financial Controller to take ownership of our finance function. This role spans financial administration, reporting, cash flow management to help the co-founders to run the business. You will play a vital role in supporting the leadership team and improving processes and systems at a dynamic and scaling up business. • Contract: Permanent, • Remuneration: £40,000 - £45,000 depending on experience + bonus scheme, salaries are reviewed every 6 months, • Location: Head office in Shoreditch About Us London Filmed is a digital-first live event production and creative media company powered by people who are transforming the way events are built. The Role • Prepare monthly management accounts (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow), • Oversee tax compliance including VAT, PAYE and Corporation Tax (with advisors as required), • Assist with budgeting, and financial planning, • Oversee the purchase and sales ledger, raise invoices, and manage bill payments, • Prepare, send and follow-up on invoices over email or on the phone when required (approx. 300 per year), • Send payments to suppliers including contractors in the UK & US, • Draft, review and execute monthly payroll, • Reconcile all financial transactions on Xero, • Monitor cash flow and provide updates to management, • Liaise with external accountants for year-end accounts and audits, • Liaise with external accountants to keep US Filmed LLC bookkeeping up to date, • Provide financial analysis on profit margins, supplier spend, and marketing/sales effectiveness, • Manage freelancer costs and other key company expenses, • Manage expenses for 42 staff members and ensure these are submitted in a timely manner, • Assist with onboarding new clients and suppliers, including form submissions and contracts, • Support the implementation of process improvements and financial controls, • Drive automation and process improvements to support scale The Person • ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified (or equivalent), • Experience of working in a growing UK business (£2m–£15m revenue), • Solid knowledge of (UK GAAP / FRS 102), • Familiarity with financial systems (Xero, Dext, QuickBooks, etc.), • Comfortable working with imperfect data and improving it, • Proven experience owning month-end and audit processes, • Excellent Excel / financial modelling skills, • Solid understanding of VAT, UK accounting standards, and financial principles, • Excellent organisational and multitasking skills, with strong attention to detail, • Confident communicator, comfortable working with finance and non-finance colleagues alike, • Comfortable in a hands-on, fast-paced environment, • Proactive to help others, to implement processes that make the company more efficient, • Familiarity with payroll, pensions, or HR processes (desirable), • Experience working with cloud-based systems and process automation (desirable) Benefits & Details • Full-time Monday–Friday, with hybrid working options, • 28 days holiday (including bank holidays) + birthday off + extended Christmas break, • Company perks, including monthly wellness allowance, Friday lunch allowance, home office allowance, and free daily coffee from the office café, • Annual bonus scheme (up to 10% of salary, linked to company and personal performance), • Regular professional development opportunities, including bi-annual reviews, • Team socials and London Filmed merch (T-shirts, Q-zips, water bottles)
