To take action against blindness prevention, alongside our partners, we’ve expanded our cataract services to include non-surgical interventions in diagnostics and treatment. In your role as a volunteer ophthalmologist you will: • screen and care for diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma and keratoconjunctivitis, • perform cataract operations over extended weekends at our cataract camps, • provide postgraduate support to medical staff in training, • engage in skills development and/or formal teaching for local staff about eye pathology Requirements: • A current medical license in good standing, • Registration with the Health Professionals Council of South Africa (HPCSA), which we assist international volunteers to obtain. A Typical Day in the Job: S upport clients with a wide range of hardware, software, and network-related issues. Providing clear, friendly, and effective assistance to clients with IT queries. Creating, setting up, and managing user accounts, including password resets and resolving account access issues. Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues efficiently, aiming for first-contact resolution. Collaborating with clients and internal teams to ensure timely resolution of tickets through a mixture of communication channels including MS Teams, email and phone. Providing day to day support and administration in the Microsoft Modern Workplace environment. Supporting Microsoft technologies including OneDrive, SharePoint, Intune and Autopilot. Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the team at Baltic Apprenticeships. Desired Qualities, Skills and Knowledge Previous experience in a busy IT support/helpdesk environment. Experience supporting Microsoft Modern Workplace environments and Technologies. Excellent customer service and communication skills, you're someone who can explain technical things clearly and helpfully. Willingness to learn. Accuracy in following instructions, configuring systems and documenting work. Ability to work well with others, take responsibility and maintain a positive, professional approach.
