The Product Function The Product team operates at the crossroads of user needs, partner objectives, and technological innovation. Working closely with design, engineering, data, and commercial colleagues, the team delivers products that underpin large-scale recruitment, learning, and engagement experiences. Our platforms support a broad ecosystem of students, employers, and institutions in the UK and internationally. The Opportunity This is a senior-level product leadership role reporting directly to the executive responsible for product strategy. You will take ownership of one or more major product areas, setting direction and driving delivery across complex, cross-functional initiatives. You will define and execute product strategy within a fast-moving digital environment, building solutions that resonate strongly with a Gen Z audience while delivering clear value to commercial and institutional partners. The role requires deep expertise in at least one relevant domain, alongside the ability to translate insight, data, and emerging technology into compelling product experiences. Only candidates able to demonstrate both outstanding product leadership and strong sector specialism will be considered. What Success Looks Like • Delivery of strategic product initiatives against agreed roadmaps, • Measurable growth in engagement, usage, and retention across owned products, • Strong satisfaction and advocacy from employer and education partners, • Successful rollout and adoption of data-driven or AI-enabled capabilities, • Clear evidence of commercial, operational, or user impact from new releases, • Continuous improvement informed by behavioural and performance data Key Responsibilities • Own and communicate a clear product vision grounded in user insight, market understanding, and domain expertise, • Lead complex programmes involving engineering, design, data, and commercial stakeholders, • Apply specialist knowledge (e.g. early careers hiring, education technology, recruitment systems, or youth-focused platforms) to shape product direction, • Champion the use of AI and automation to improve personalisation, efficiency, and user experience, • Use analytics and experimentation to inform decisions, prioritisation, and performance measurement, • Partner closely with UX/UI teams to deliver intuitive, high-quality digital experiences, • Strengthen competitive differentiation through innovation and thoughtful execution, • Maintain clear documentation, alignment, and stakeholder communication, • Support and mentor less-experienced product managers where appropriate Candidate Profile • A senior product professional with proven experience in a relevant industry, • Able and willing to work from the organisation’s Oxfordshire office, • Strategic, curious, and comfortable introducing new ideas backed by evidence, • Strong interest in the digital behaviours and expectations of Gen Z users, • Confident communicator with the ability to influence at all levels, • Comfortable operating in dynamic, evolving environments, • Detail-oriented, accountable, and delivery-focused, • Collaborative and supportive team member with a mentoring mindset, • Motivated by creating meaningful outcomes for students and early-career talent, • Passionate about well-designed products and seamless user journeys Experience & Skills Applicants must demonstrate significant experience and depth in at least one of the following areas: • Recruitment marketplaces or job platforms (ideally early-career focused), • Applicant tracking systems, screening tools, or recruitment operations technology, • Learning, skills, or competency-based platforms, • University careers systems or education technology SaaS, • High-engagement digital products aimed at younger audiences Additional requirements include: • Extensive product management experience at senior or lead level, • Track record of owning products end-to-end in complex or multi-sided environments, • Strong collaboration with design teams and understanding of modern front-end concepts, • Demonstrated commitment to user-centred, high-quality design, • Experience delivering AI-enabled features and rapid prototyping approaches, • Advanced use of product delivery and documentation tools (e.g. Jira, Confluence or equivalents), • Strong analytics capability, including defining KPIs and deriving insight from data, • Familiarity with tools such as Looker, Google Analytics, or similar (SQL skills beneficial), • Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, • Experience shaping long-term product strategy and roadmaps, • Excellent prioritisation across user value, business impact, and technical constraints, • Awareness of SEO principles is advantageous If this is something of interest, please apply now and one of our team will be in touch with next steps!
