    Job description Parklands Surgery is a busy GP practice located in the centre of Chichester We are looking to recruit an additional member of staff to add to our current team of 6 friendly medical receptionists. 25.5 hours over 3 days (no weekends/bank holidays). · Hours of work between: 8am - 6.30pm, Monday - Friday, to be agreed, plus overtime available for holiday and sickness cover. The ideal candidate will need to possess extensive customer service experience, excellent verbal and written communication skills, be fully computer literate and be able to work under pressure, in a fast paced environment whilst providing the best possible care for our patients. Main Duties and Responsibilities • Provide a warm, caring and professional welcome to patients attending the surgery, • Answering patient queries., • Process patient requests and assist them in booking the most appropriate appointment., • Use clinical database (SystmOne)., • Assist with the effective recording of data onto the clinical system., • Record all patient contacts onto the computerised records in line with Practice protocols., • Processing requests for repeat medication., • Provide a high standard of customer service. Qualifications • O-Level / GCSE or equivalent English – Grade C or above – Desirable, • O-Level / GCSE or equivalent Mathematics – Grade C or above – Desirable. Essential Experience • Customer or Patient facing role, • Microsoft Office – in particular MS Word, Excell and Outlook. A computer literacy test will apply. Desirable Experience • Working in a busy reception (ideally in a GP or other NHS setting), • Administration, • Emis Web or Systm1 clinical system, • Working in an NHS environment, • Medical terminology, • Working with customer management systems (Looking up records and finding out information from computer systems). Personal Attributes • Able to communicate clearly with a wide range of people, • Professional and responsible attitude, reliable and punctual, • Able to work independently / self-motivated, • Able to use judgement and plan and prioritise tasks and workflows, • Able to take initiative and be resourceful when responding to enquiries, • Team-worker - flexible approach and able to adapt to changes, • Willing to develop and train according to the needs of the role, • Resilient, calm manner in busy environments, • Able to respect confidentiality and discretion.
