Hours: 10 hours per week (School hours)\nFormat: Home-based tuition\nPreference: Female tutor requested by the familyAbout the Role\n\nWe are seeking an experienced and nurturing tutor to support a Year 10 learner with an EHCP who is currently awaiting a specialist school placement.\n\nThe learner presents with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs alongside significant difficulties in literacy, numeracy, communication, processing speed, confidence, and emotional regulation. They have been out of formal education for an extended period.\n\nKey Areas of Support\n\nFunctional Skills: English, Maths, and Science\nAnxiety management and learning resilience\nPositive, low-pressure learning routinesLearner Profile\n\nThe learner:\n\nBenefits from a calm, patient, and consistent approach\nResponds well to reassurance and positive relationships\nLearns best through practical and hands-on activities\nRequires learning tasks to be broken down into manageable steps\nExperiences anxiety and can become overwhelmed by change, uncertainty, or perceived failure\nHas interests in football, animals, horses, music, and outdoor activitiesRequirements:\n\nSolid background in SEMH and trauma-informed practice.\nCalm, patient, and highly flexible. Ability to teach well below age-related expectations.\nQTS preferred, but solid experience with vulnerable youth is what matters most.Tuition Environment\n\nTuition will take place within the family home, where there is access to a suitable learning space and ICT equipment. \n\nThis opportunity would suit a tutor who is passionate about supporting vulnerable young people, can build trust and engagement, and is committed to helping learners achieve positive educational outcomes
