We're looking for a proactive and detail-oriented HSE Officer to play a vital role in supporting a high-performing site team.About the RoleAs a key member of the HSE team, you will provide a proactive, engaging and professional HSE service, ensuring the site operates safely, adheres to legal requirements, and maintains best practice standards at all times.You'll work closely with the HSE Manager and Operations teams, acting as a trusted partner across departments and stepping up to deputise in the HSE Manager's absence.Key Responsibilities?? Daily Operations & AdministrationRepresent HSE in daily production meetings, driving actions and improvementsConduct workplace observations, safety audits and hazard assessmentsEnsure completion and management of safety checks and compliance recordsMonitor equipment faults and liaise with engineering teamsMaintain accurate documentation including waste records and compliance data?? Audits, Compliance & Continuous ImprovementSupport internal and external audits (e.g. BRC, customer, SEDEX)Assist in environmental benchmarking and site auditsMaintain and update HSE systems, noticeboards and communicationsEnsure compliance with company policies and legal standards?? Incident & Risk ManagementSupport accident and near-miss investigations with root cause analysisTrack actions, ensure completion and promote safe return to work practicesAssist with risk assessments and Safe Systems of Work?? Training & EngagementDeliver toolbox talks and HSE training sessionsSupport the site training matrix and ensure records remain compliantWork collaboratively with HR and department leads on specialist training?? Reporting & KPIsTrack safety KPIs, trends, and performance metricsProduce reports and analysis to drive improvement initiativesMonitor utilities, accident trends, and departmental performanceWhat We're Looking For? Experience or understanding of Health, Safety & Environmental practices? Ideally experience within FMCG or a chilled manufacturing environment? Strong administrative and organisational skills? Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)? Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities? Self-motivated, adaptable and able to manage competing priorities?
