Principal Mechanical Engineer We are seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to join a high-performing team within a cutting-edge aerospace organisation. Key Responsibilities • Define and execute the mechanical engineering strategy, translating organisational objectives into measurable goals and delivery plans., • Serve as the technical authority across mechanical engineering, guiding design standards, best practices, and innovation., • Lead, mentor, and develop the mechanical engineering team, fostering capability growth and cross-functional collaboration., • Own critical mechanical work packages and continuous improvement initiatives, coordinating internal engineers and external partners., • Collaborate closely with systems, electronics, and optical teams to deliver integrated, high-performance solutions., • Advise senior management on technical, organisational, and resource planning priorities., • Ensure compliance with company policies, engineering standards, and industry best practices. Skills & Experience • Proven track record in leading mechanical product development in high-tech aerospace or precision engineering environments., • 10+ years’ experience across the full mechanical product lifecycle, including concept, design, validation, and manufacturing., • Strong experience with optical or opto-mechanical systems., • Expert knowledge of mechanical design and drawing standards for precision machined and sheet-metal components., • High proficiency in SolidWorks; experience with FEA, flow simulation, or other engineering analysis tools advantageous., • Excellent hands-on engineering skills and knowledge of modern manufacturing and assembly methods., • Strong strategic, organisational, and project management skills, capable of managing multiple high-impact initiatives simultaneously. Our client is hiring for a Graduate Analog IC Design Engineer to join their deep-tech R&D centre in Southampton. This is an exciting chance for a Graduate to join a small, specialist team of analog and mixed-signal IC design experts and really get to grips with cutting-edge block-level design for custom silicon sensors and systems. As a Graduate in the team, you will: • Assist in circuit design, simulation, and verification using industry-standard EDA tools, • Work on blocks such as amplifiers, filters, ADC/DAC interfaces, voltage references, and power management circuits, • Perform schematic capture, pre-layout and post-layout simulations, • Contribute to layout reviews to ensure performance, matching, and reliability, • Support silicon bring-up, lab testing, and characterization of ICs, • You may also contribute to electronics work between projects We’re looking for a motivated Graduate with a BSc / MSc in Electronics Engineering or similar field and a strong set of A-level results. Prior hands-on project experience within analog / mixed-signal IC design is essential, as is a strong interest in electronics, and the ability to communicate well!
