About the role: As a Traffic Management Operative, you will be pivotal in optimising all traffic management operations for our diverse range of projects. Your responsibilities will include: Monitoring, managing, and controlling project sites to ensure safe and efficient delivery of contracts and schemes. Ensuring compliance with national and international traffic management rules, legislation, and industry standards (e.g., NHSS). Conducting risk assessments and developing method statements for all traffic management works Liaising with TM Manager and communicating to relevant parties Overseeing various traffic management methods, including road closures, lane closures, diversions, and temporary traffic signal operations. Collecting and analysing data to identify areas for improvement and optimise operational performance. Adhering to health and safety standards About you: We are looking for a highly organised, proactive, and experienced professional with a strong understanding of traffic management principles. The ideal candidate will possess: Experience in traffic management, particularly within road networks. Demonstrate strong teamwork and collaboration skills. Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, and negotiation skills. Strong problem-solving abilities and a pragmatic approach to unexpected situations. Exceptional organisational and time management skills, capable of multitasking and prioritising effectively under pressure. Technical competence and operational experience in highway infrastructure. Ideal but not essential; relevant qualifications or certifications in traffic management (e.g. Lantra certifications) or a degree in Logistics, Transportation Engineering or related field. You will need to be self-motivated, confident, proactive and strategic in your approach, as well as have good communication skills via all mediums, written, telephone and computer. The Role: As a Planner for Clancy, you will play a vital role in helping us to achieve operational excellence, that delights our customers, through efficient and logical planning of our operational team's schedules. You will be planning & scheduling work orders for our reinstatement team, which includes requesting council permits and traffic management services, always with the health and safety of our teams top of mind. Here are some of the activities you'll be involved in: Liaise with the Repair & Maintenance team to understand the progress of their work orders, allowing you to proactively prepare for upcoming reinstatement work orders. Ensure requirements are translated into accurate and concise work instructions. Build great relationships with operational teams, local authorities and clients Ask the right questions, to ensure the permits you request from the council are for the correct work types and timeframes. Manage customer calls in relation to site conditions and work defects. Plan and issue works defected by the highways department Ensure all permits are closed upon completion of works. Locate reported works within the client's and our systems to ensure planning is in place. What do you need? We are keen to recruit an energetic team player with great communication skills, and previous work experience that includes organisation and customer service. A detailed and forward-thinking approach to problem solving is important, as well as being someone who is focused on getting it 'right first time'. It's helpful if you understand Health & Safety and Streetworks legislation but this is not essential, as we will provide the appropriate training. Highways knowledge is also adventageous.
