About the Role We are currently recruiting for an experienced FLT Driver (Counterbalance) to join a leading automotive manufacturing and logistics operation based in Washington, Sunderland. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a fast-paced production environment, supporting the movement of materials and components essential to the manufacturing process. The successful candidate will hold a valid Counterbalance FLT licence and have previous experience operating forklifts within a manufacturing, automotive, or warehouse environment. Key Responsibilities • Operating a Counterbalance Forklift Truck safely and efficiently., • Loading and unloading deliveries, ensuring goods are handled correctly., • Supplying production lines with automotive components and raw materials., • Transporting finished goods between warehouse and production areas., • Conducting daily vehicle checks and reporting any defects., • Ensuring stock is stored accurately and safely within designated locations., • Completing associated paperwork and stock control documentation., • Adhering to all health and safety procedures and site regulations., • Supporting general warehouse and production activities when required., • Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment. Candidate Requirements • Valid and in-date Counterbalance FLT licence (RTITB, ITSSAR or equivalent)., • Previous experience operating Counterbalance FLTs within a manufacturing, automotive, or logistics environment., • Strong awareness of health and safety procedures., • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment., • Good communication and teamwork skills., • Ability to follow work instructions and meet production targets., • Flexibility to work shifts, overtime, and weekends when required., • Experience with SAP, warehouse management systems, or stock control processes would be advantageous. Desired Skills & Experience • Automotive sector experience., • Line-feed or production support experience., • Experience loading and unloading HGVs., • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing or Just-In-Time (JIT) processes., • Additional FLT licences (Reach, VNA, etc.) would be beneficial but are not essential
