The Production/Designer Specialist position offers a flexible work schedule where you can grow your career. Although it starts out as part-time, it can either continue as part-time or become a full-time position – that’s up to you! Handle call-ins and walk-in prospects and customers in a courteous and professional manner. • Design and create all types of signs., • Mask, weed and apply vinyl to various substrates., • Print, mount, trim and finish various digital graphics and signage., • Must be able to use an X-Acto knife and ruler efficiently., • Properly load and use a cold pressure laminator following standard safety precautions., • Load and cut vinyl on a plotter., • Load media, inks and generate quality prints from digital print equipment., • Move raw materials, sheets and roll goods for manufacturing., • Operate a vertical panel saw using standard safety procedures., • Maintain machinery in good working order., • Greet customers and answer phones in a professional and knowledgeable manner., • Accurately fill in sign layout forms, price estimates and invoices., • Assist in operating and managing the store when needed., • Travel to different locations within the community to preview work areas, give estimates and install various types of signs., • Apply vehicle, boat and window graphics., • Keep a running inventory of all stock and supplies., • Efficiently and effectively manage multiple projects concurrently., • Complete in store training utilizing the following: Front counter Sales, Sign Product Training video, Sign Production Techniques, Key lines and the Owner’s Manual., • Maintain an organized, clean and professional store appearance at all times. What You’ll Do • Design and update retail packaging and packaging components across multiple SKUs, • Translate product requirements into clear, brand-compliant packaging layouts, • Prepare and revise files for production and internal review (with guidance from the team as needed), • Manage the licensor approval process, including: Submitting designs to licensors (email and/or portals as required), • Tracking timelines, revisions, and approval status, • Implementing feedback accurately and maintaining version control, • Communicating clearly and professionally with external licensor contacts, • Organize tasks, deadlines, and handoffs using Asana (we can train you) Required Qualifications • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator and Photoshop required; InDesign a plus), • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow brand guidelines precisely, • Comfortable managing multiple tasks and keeping projects moving (approvals, revisions, deadlines), • Strong written communication skills for external licensor coordination, • Ability to work on-site during scheduled hours (9:30 AM–6:00 PM) Nice to Have (Not Required) • ~1 year of design experience (professional or internship), • Familiarity with Mac environments (preferred), • Any experience with packaging design, production files, or dielines, • Experience using project management tools (Asana, Trello, Monday, etc.) What We Offer • A training-friendly environment with mentorship from experienced in-house designers, • Real product packaging experience from concept through approval, • Flexible scheduling for students (days/week can be arranged), • Full-time employment after graduation possible.
