Job DescriptionSalary: Title: Part-Time Hard Goods Designer Location: Requires at least one day per week in our New York City office, with additional in-person time as needed during heavier design, development, and tech pack periods. Rate: $45-$55/hour, non-exempt Reports to: Director of Accessories Travel: Occasional travel may be required Position Overview The Hard Goods Designer will conceptualize, develop, and refine home dcor and tabletop products that embody the Tuckernuck lifestyle. This role requires strong design sensibility, excellent execution skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across functions. It is a part-time role (20 hours/week) ideal for a designer who thrives in a fast-paced yet highly curated environment. Core Responsibilities • Design and develop seasonal and core home products across categories including tabletop, serveware, decorative accessories, candles, gifting, and seasonal entertaining., • Create detailed technical drawings, spec sheets, and production-ready handoff packages., • Develop mood boards, seasonal concepts, and inspiration presentations aligned with Tuckernucks brand identity., • Research materials, artisanal techniques, trends, and competitive products to inspire new ideas and ensure market relevance., • Partner closely with Merchandising on assortment planning, pricing targets, and line architecture., • Collaborate with Sourcing and Production teams to review prototypes, evaluate samples, troubleshoot issues, and ensure quality., • Maintain consistency in aesthetic, materials, color, and brand point of view across all product categories., • Track and organize all design files, revisions, sampling rounds, and seasonal deliverables., • Participate in cross-functional meetings, line reviews, and weekly design check-ins., • Support additional design needs within the Home category as required. Minimum Qualifications • Bachelors degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, or a related field (or equivalent experience)., • 35+ years of hard goods, home dcor, or tabletop product design experience; experience in ceramics, metal, wood, or glass is a plus. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities • Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop, CAD, etc., • Excellent eye for color, form, proportion, materiality, and detail., • Ability to interpret and design within the Tuckernuck brand aesthetic classic, polished, elevated, and rooted in lifestyle storytelling., • Strong communication skills and comfort presenting design concepts cross-functionally., • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to balance multiple projects within a part-time schedule., • Experience working with overseas factories and reviewing samples preferred.
