Machine shop located in Mahwah, NJ seeking a motivated and responsible individual to perform various machining duties. Must be motivated to learn. Position Overview: The Machine Shop Assistant will support our production team, ensuring the smooth operation of our process flow. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience. Key Responsibilities: • Operate machinery – Tapping machines, CNC Mill cycle changeovers, brushing, detabbing, deburring, bead blasting, powder coating, etc., • Receiving incoming material deliveries; weigh and process scrap material, • Basic preventative maintenance of equipment – changing of filters, routine cleanings, etc. Qualifications: • A strong desire to learn machining processes and to take on new responsibilities Skills and Competencies: • Strengths: Mechanical Aptitude, skilled with their hands and able to perform repetitive tasks, • Attention to Detail: Ability to detect and correct quality issues, • Problem-solving: Identify root causes and implement corrective actions, • Communication: Excellent verbal skills and collaboration with the team Work Environment: • Repetitive tasks in a manufacturing production environment, • Standing for long periods in a manufacturing environment, • Work independently and efficiently to maintain time sensitive production schedule, • Lifting up to 50 lbs.
