Job DescriptionJob Title: Filler Operator Job Description The Filler Operator plays a vital role in the production process, ensuring customer, team member, and vendor satisfaction by performing essential functions related to the manufacture of dairy products. This includes setting up, operating, cleaning, and troubleshooting production equipment while adhering to standard operating procedures. Responsibilities • Achieve assigned goals in production, safety, quality, performance, and cost., • Operate assigned filling equipment, including setup, prestart, startup, operation, shutdown, and cleaning, in accordance with standard operating procedures., • Troubleshoot equipment following established procedures., • Notify others of mechanical malfunctions to enhance productivity and equipment capabilities., • Perform CIP processes, including chemical input temperature and time controls, and monitor COP, including manual washing of equipment., • Maintain production schedule, meet order expectations, monitor variances, and report out of spec, daily planning, and scheduling of production., • Clear any jam-ups and restore production line operations., • Comply with GMPs, SOPs, corporate and plant policies, rules, and regulations., • Utilize inventory control systems to update inventory and retrieve necessary details., • Conduct product quality control checks on an ongoing basis., • Support all areas in the production facility as assigned by the supervisor/lead and build competence in key production areas., • Gain competence in online circuits and ensure proper hookups in the facility., • Cover breaks, lunches, and other staffing needs as assigned by the supervisor/lead., • Comply with all legal requirements concerning dairy processing and safety., • Work safely and report safety concerns promptly to the supervisor/lead, taking corrective actions as needed., • Report food safety problems and initiate actions to support SQF by maintaining food safety and quality., • Ensure direct reports' duties and responsibilities are covered during absences, acting as a backup as needed., • Maintain sanitary work areas and adhere strictly to sanitation practices., • Communicate effectively between shifts and other departments.Essential Skills, • Visual inspection and quality control experience., • Experience in general production and operation of filling machines., • Ability to apply basic to complex mathematical concepts., • Proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English., • Ability to operate facility equipment as required., • Completion of all company training requirements., • Ability to interpret company documents, literature, and UPC/code information.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Knowledge of the company's mission, purpose, goals, and one's role in achieving them., • Special language skills preferred when there is a business need.Why Work Here? Work Environment This position is within an FDA-regulated environment, operating on a 3 on, 2 off, 2 on, 3 off shift schedule, 365 days a year, with night shifts running from 6pm to 6:30am. The dress code includes a company uniform and steel-toed shoes, which are available for purchase at a reasonable cost. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of East Syracuse, New York. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.50 - $24.50/hr.
