Job Description ABOUT THE ROLE Are you passionate about growing audiences who care about innovation, leadership, and entrepreneurship? Mansueto Ventures—the parent company of Inc. and Fast Company—is looking for a Director of Audience Development to lead strategy and execution across our digital ecosystem. You’ll be the driving force behind audience growth for two of the most influential media brands in business. This role sits at the intersection of editorial, product, marketing, and revenue, leading data-driven strategies that expand our reach, deepen engagement, and convert loyal readers into subscribers and members. This is a hybrid position, with the expectation of three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) in the NYC office at 7 World Trade Center. Salary range: $110,000 - $140,000. Compensation may vary based on relevant experience, skills, industry, and education. WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING • Grow and engage our audience: Partner with editorial leadership to increase traffic, email subscribers, followers, and registered users across Inc.com and FastCompany.com., • Lead SEO and AI strategy: Shape how our content performs in search and emerging AI platforms, optimizing headlines, metadata, and partnerships that drive discovery., • Own newsletter and lifecycle marketing: Oversee newsletter strategy, segmentation, and onboarding/re-engagement campaigns to boost retention and conversion., • Optimize across platforms: Develop growth strategies for Reddit, Quora, WhatsApp, and other emerging platforms, while collaborating with social teams on innovation., • Turn insights into action: Translate data from GA4, Parse.ly, Bombora, and other tools into strategic recommendations that inform editorial, marketing, and sales., • Support revenue growth: Optimize content funnels and referral channels to drive subscriptions and paid engagement., • Collaborate cross-functionally: Advocate for audience data across teams and foster a shared understanding of growth levers company-wide. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES/DIRECT REPORTS (if applicable) * You’ll lead a small but mighty team (currently one direct report) with potential to expand, and will work closely with senior stakeholders across brands and departments. WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR • 10+ years of audience development or content marketing experience in a digital publishing or agency environment, • 5+ years managing distributed teams and leading cross-functional initiatives, • Deep expertise in SEO, analytics (GA4, Parse.ly, Chartbeat), and lifecycle marketing, • Experience running newsletter programs and familiarity with subscription-driven models, • Data-driven mindset with a knack for storytelling through insights, • Excellent communicator who can inspire, influence, and execute WHY JOIN US At Mansueto Ventures, we believe great journalism and innovation go hand in hand.
