Position: Dock Attendant – Level II Reports to: Assistant Marina Manager / Marina Manager Statement of Purpose: The Dock Attendant – Level II is responsible for completing daily tasks of the marina and pool operations. Skillfully apply Club Rules and By-laws in a practical manner. Assists the Marina Manager with the maintenance and general upkeep of the marina property working collaboratively with members of management. The Dock Attendant – Level II will assist the Marina Manager in providing excellent customer service ensuring a fantastic member experience. The candidate will assist the Marina Manager with all marina infrastructure upkeep. They are expected to be a subject matter expert in the fields of daily marina, fuel dock, and pool operations. This is a mid-level position where basic leadership is expected to foster an environment that encourages creativity, celebrates critical thinking and problem solving, and most importantly; delivers an exceptional member experience. Primary Duties: Marina Operations: • Welcome all members and guests to the marina: assist with lines, power, water, ice, and any other specific requests as required. The marina team makes the first impression; make it outstanding!, • Work with F&B team for any future offerings to marina members and guests, • Assist with dock reservations, slip and dry space temporary assignments, and departure logs, • Keep annual slip & dry space contracts updated constantly per Club Rules, • Training of marina staff in specific work-related functions as directed by the Marina Manager, • Safely operate Club-owned vessels as required Oversee fueling procedures including: • Responsible for all UST safety controls, ground well monitoring, light repair work, etc., • Responsible for daily fuel reconciliation auditing, completion, reporting, • Monitor inventory controls and assist Marina Manager with any discrepancies, • Ensure safe operation of equipment and implementation of BMP’s as directed by the Marina Manager, • Environmental and preventative maintenance practices; responsible assist with all DERM inspections and monitoring requirements Marina Maintenance: • As directed by Marina Manager, lead maintenance activities and projects performed by staff, • Report to Marina Manager on maintenance work performed by staff and outside vendors to be logged, • Activities include repairing boards, piling caps, waste receptacles, dock carts, navigational signage, marina signage, electrical, etc., • Inspect docks daily looking for all signs of required maintenance (dock boxes, water lines, spigots, electrical issues, etc.), • Clean docks of organic matter with water; clean fish cleaning stations regularly of organic material, • Assist with maintaining the Club-owned boats as required by the Waterfront Amenities & Sailing Director and sailing staff, • Complete all tasks as directed by Marina Manager in a timely and efficient manner, • Report all new outside vendors to Marina Manager as they become known or observed, • Monitor waste oil tank and report to Marina Manager as time nears to have tank emptied, • Assist with coordination of Jib Crane annual safety inspection and certificate; regularly report crane maintenance requirements as observed or noted by membership Administration • Be aware of Federal, State and Local regulatory guidelines as they relate to marina activities. Ensure that marina operations are compliant with applicable laws. Immediately inform the Marina Manager of official visits, inquiries, and notices from a regulatory agency., • Keep all dockage agreements and ownership information current (insurance, registration, etc.), • Work with the Waterfront Amenities & Sailing Director and Race Committee Chair to coordinate sailing events, • Assist with Club Special Events and fishing events as required; Change of Watch Festivities (canon), Holiday Boat Parade (required), Flag Lowering ceremonies, etc. Pool Operations • Maintain Certified Pool Operator certificate – responsible for all pool related matters, • Manage pool maintenance with the intent to keep the pool in pristine condition, including preventative pool pump equipment maintenance Problem Solving • Continually contributes to all colleagues’ success; maintains a positive attitude while at work Education and Certificates: • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent preferred, • Ability to obtain UST Class C licenses within first 30-days of hire, • Ability to obtain/maintain Certified Pool Operator license Experience: • A minimum of 5 years of experience in marina operations is preferred Skills: Operational Skills • Ability to anticipate and understand Members’ needs; ability to deliver superior customer service, • Ability to work long hours with a strong focus on operational excellence, • Ability to understand the flow of service and handle multiple tasks effectively, • Ability to handle telephone calls and written correspondence effectively in a timely manner, • Computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required, • Ability to effectively develop, coordinate, manage, and complete projects, • Ability to communicate clearly with peers and superiors through project completion, • Ability to effectively communicate and use varying approaches with diverse personalities, • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English required, • Ability to work in an outdoor environment in tropical / sub-tropical climate, • Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects 40 lbs or more frequently, • Requires writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity, • Ability to stand and/or walk long distances for an extended period of time, or for an entire work shift, • Available to work late nights, weekends, holidays, and long hours as required Equal Employment Opportunity, Drug Free workplace.
