Job Description Estimator : • Retrieves scanned plans from system/downloads bid package and creates folder on estimating server., • Updates weekly meeting minutes notifying of new plans with bid due dates, and updates on status of open bids., • Fills out the Estimating Checklist for every bid., • Updates bid board., • Review landlord requirements, including required or preferred subcontractors., • Reviews subcontractor bid list with assistant estimator to confirm the proper subs are bidding., • Confirms that subcontractor bid invites are sent out to subs within 24-48 hours of receipt of bid package from client., • Confirms a date/time for site visit during the bid process., • Confirms project start/end dates are in the bid package., • Provides trade breakdown to know what trades need to be called for pricing., • Performs all trade take offs and unit costs in order to qualify/quantify subs prices for bid compilation., • Thoroughly reviews project bid documents and plans to get a full understanding of project scope., • Generates RFI’s during the bid process to engage and communicate with client and architect. Develops a potential VE list that gets shared with the client., • Prepares estimate on client bid form along with a separate clear, accurate budget., • Submits estimate to client on bid due date., • Complete project scope sheets for each trade to qualify subcontractors., • Upon award of a project, sits with Project Manager to review scopes, buyouts, budgets to get project started off correctly., • Taking good notes at the weekly meetings, and making sure that the topics/issues spoken about concerning estimating are being taken care of., • Review appointment in calendar for the day bid is due., • Reviews plans with subs to establish V.E. options to be submitted with our bid
