Direct Placement Role Starting rate: $32-34/hr (A lot of overtime available) Job Description The Field Service Technician will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair advanced robotic rehabilitation equipment in hospitals and clinics throughout the New York region. This role combines hands-on technical work with professional customer interaction and frequent regional travel, supporting cutting-edge medical technology that directly improves patients’ lives. Must be open with schedule/hours and be comfortable with some heavy lifting. Responsibilities • Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain robotic medical equipment at hospitals and healthcare facilities in the New York region., • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on advanced rehabilitation systems to ensure optimal performance and safety., • Travel throughout the region to support customer sites, following a primarily night-shift schedule and adapting to changing customer needs., • Document all service activities clearly and accurately, including written notes, photos, and equipment scans in the designated systems., • Communicate professionally and courteously with customers, clinical staff, and internal team members to provide clear updates and explanations., • Utilize company-provided tools, equipment, mobile phone, and technology platforms to complete service work efficiently and accurately., • Safely lift, move, and position equipment and components up to 50 lbs during training and up to 75 lbs as experience progresses., • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while working with electrical, mechanical, and robotic systems in healthcare environments., • Interpret basic schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation to support installation, troubleshooting, and repair activities., • Collaborate with the broader service team and management to share feedback from customer sites and support continuous improvement of service processes. Essential Skills • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills, particularly in service, repair, and preventative maintenance environments., • Experience using a wide range of hand tools and power tools for mechanical and electrical work., • High level of professional communication, with the ability to interact effectively with customers and clinical staff., • Comfort with frequent regional travel and the flexibility to work primarily night shifts based on customer needs., • Professional, reliable, and team-oriented attitude with a strong sense of responsibility and accountability., • Ability to learn and utilize new technology, including company-provided devices, software, and diagnostic tools., • Capability to work independently in the field while following established procedures and documenting work thoroughly., • Physical ability to safely lift and handle equipment and components up to 50 lbs during training and up to 75 lbs with experience. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Background in HVAC, electrical work, field service, mechanical maintenance, industrial equipment repair, or automotive/mechanical repair., • Experience with assembly, construction, and installation work, including the use of hand tools and power tools., • Basic electronics knowledge or technical school training related to mechanical, electrical, or industrial systems., • Familiarity with reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams., • Exposure to hydraulics, wiring, and field service environments in industrial or commercial settings., • Experience performing service, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance in technician roles., • Comfort working with advanced medical or robotic equipment is a plus, though not required., • Ability to participate in virtual interviews via platforms such as Microsoft Teams or Zoom.
