Job Description BGIS is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician (Roving) to join the team in Lakeland, FL. We are seeking a Maintenance Technician (Roving) with an extensive background in high-volume, high-velocity distribution environments. We are looking for professionals who have mastered the rigorous uptime standards of large-scale fulfillment centers and automated warehouse hubs. As the Maintenance Technician (Roving), you are the technical expert ensuring the heartbeat of the distribution network remains steady. You will move between various sites to perform mission-critical maintenance on the mechanical and supporting systems that keep high-output logistics operations running 24/7. Key Responsibilities: * Mission-Critical Uptime: Perform regular inspections, preventative maintenance (PM), and corrective repairs on mechanical systems to ensure zero interruption to high-speed client operations. * Advanced Troubleshooting: Diagnose deficiencies in facility equipment, including pneumatic and hydraulic systems, providing immediate solutions to prevent operational bottlenecks. * Precision Maintenance: Operate and maintain HVAC and mechanical systems in strict accordance with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) and fire protection requirements. * Digital Workflow: Manage the work order life cycle within our maintenance management database, ensuring every repair is documented and closed out with high quality. * Roving Versatility: Travel between facilities with a high sense of urgency and professional conduct when interacting with site leadership and tenants. Client Relations • Assists in enhancing tenant and customer satisfaction and maintaining positive relations through manner in which work is performed and services delivered. Administration • Participates in and assists with facility-related projects., • Ensures the manner in which work is performed is in compliance with corporate and legislated policies, procedures, practices and guidelines related to environmental, health and safety, fire protection and any other applicable requirements., • Maintains all assigned tools and arranges for repair and replacement where required, • Submits all expenditures on a timely basis., • Other duties as assigned REQUIRED EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, and ABILITIES • High school diploma plus trades training and/or certification or licensing., • Minimum 3 years’ experience providing preventive and corrective maintenance on heating ventilation and air conditions systems, or pneumatic or hydraulic systems., • Sound knowledge of processes and practices relating to facility operations and maintenance, • Demonstrated ability to maintain, troubleshoot and repair (as per applicable qualifications) mechanical and other building systems and equipment, • Possesses a strong environmental, health, and safety mindset., • Strong client-service orientation along with a high sense of urgency, • Knowledge and understanding of Building Automation Systems (BAS), • Effective communication skills for the purpose of data relay, exchange, feedback, and clarification, • Mentoring skills required to support lower-level technician’s development, • Must be able and willing to work shifts, be available for on-call/standby and emergency callouts as they arise, • Must strictly adhere to Health and Safety policies including wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), • Must be capable of obtaining appropriate security clearance, • Building Operator Certification or equivalent through an accredited institution preferred Physical Demands and Work Environment • Ability to work at heights and from ladders., • Ability to regularly walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl., • Regularly lift and/or move up to 75 pounds., • Respond to off hour emergency calls.
