Job Description Organizational Mission Statement Hope House Florida empowers parenting teenage moms to strive for personal and economic self-sufficiency and to understand their significance in God’s sight, resulting in a healthy future for them, and for their children. Summary This is a distinct opportunity to come lead the expansion of much-needed services for teen moms and children in Polk County, through the partnership of a national leader who has more than 23 years experience helping moms become self sufficient. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director (ED) will have overall strategic and operational responsibility for Hope House staff, programs, expansion, and the execution of its mission. The ED works in conjunction with the Board of Directors to develop and implement the annual strategic plan and organizational policies. The ED represents the ministry in the community and is accountable for networking and fundraising. The ED is responsible for working with stakeholders and partners to accomplish its mission. The ED acts as the direct liaison with Hope House National for coaching, guidance, fidelity assessment and story-sharing, and interacts with the ED’s of Hope House Affiliates nationwide, providing opportunity for all affiliates to grow and sharpen one another. Board of Directors (BOD) Responsibilities • Maintains regular communication and builds strong relationships with the entire Board, ensuring effective collaboration, • Participates in Board committees, • Collaborates with the BOD to develop organizational direction, long range strategic and financial plans, and annual operational plan, • Implements Board policies and builds support for Board decisions amongst staff, • Creates financial and budgetary plans and presents to BOD for approval, • Routinely reports to the BOD concerning the operations, risks, and successes of the organization, • Participates in board recruitment and development Leadership & Programmatic Responsibilities • Recruit, lead, coach, develop, and retain high-performance staff, • Oversight of self-sufficiency programming; ensure use of self-sufficiency rubric, Individual Growth Plans (IGP) and IGP processes, • Oversight of program data and program evaluation, • Ensure a warm, welcoming, safe environment that attracts and retains teen moms, • Actively engage and energize Hope House volunteers, board members, event committees, alumni, partnering organizations, and funders Operational Responsibilities • Ensures proper insurance is procured and maintained for all areas of organization, • Ensures the organization remains compliant with state and federal regulations, • Ensure that facilities, grounds, and vehicles are maintained and secure and meet our excellent environment standards, • Develop, implement and manage security plans, fire plans, emergency escape and disaster plans, and ensure staff and volunteers are trained in these areas Financial Management & HR Responsibilities • Oversee development of 3-year financial plan, in support of strategic plan, as well as annual budget planning, • Oversight of cash management, forecasting, monthly close cycle and reporting to Finance Committee and Board of Directors, • Manage relationship with outsourced vendors (i.e. accountant, bookkeeper), • Oversight of annual audit; manage auditor relationship; ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, regulatory requirements, and audit requirements, • Responsible for oversight of payroll through payroll vendor, • Maintain grant financials and program budgets in a manner easy for grant reporting, • Implement Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) practices, • Awareness and preparedness to respond to legal challenges that may arise in the course of business, • Oversight of HR functions, processes and policies; ensure compliance with applicable legislation & regulations Fundraising & Communication Responsibilities • Serve as the chief spokesperson and advocate for Hope House, strengthening relationships with stakeholders, donors, and the community, • Develop 3-year and annual development plan (or provide oversight to Director of Development) to ensure that fundraising objectives are achieved, • Ensure Transformational Giving principles are incorporated and adhered to, • Cultivate and maintain donor (champion) relationships, identify funding opportunities, manage (or oversee) grant development, • Represents and promotes the organization in the community, • Oversee communications, including written communications, social media, web presence, public speaking opportunities, etc., • Build and maintain partnerships with other service providers, nonprofits, and local businesses, • Accountable for volunteer management including appreciation and building relationships Responsibilities to Hope House National • Ensure compliance with the legal agreement between Hope House _____ and Hope House National, as well as alignment with Hope House Core Components, • Ensure adherence to Hope House National brand standards, communication and storytelling standards, • Participates in regular meetings with Hope House National for guidance/coaching as necessary, and participates in Affiliate meetings to share knowledge and learnings, • Participates in annual fidelity assessment, • Provides financial reports to National, including audit, 990,, • Reports KPI’s, • 2-4 years managerial experience supervising staff, • Two years’ experience leading a business or organization, • Fundraising experience required, • Position requires occasional evening and weekend hours and limited travel, • Deeply connected with other Central Florida and Polk County non-profit leaders, churches and organizations related to serving underserved populations and child welfare, • 3-5 years of experience working with at-risk adolescents preferred; experience working with teen moms is highly valued, • Demonstrate strong, effective leadership skills, along with excellent communication skills, • Demonstrate an ability to work collaboratively and possess creative problem-solving skills, • Able to work in a professional, high pressure and fast paced environment, • Be aware of potential liabilities to the organization, • Highly organized and detail oriented, • Experience leading capital campaign preferred Christ Centered: exhibits God's love;
