Aviation Service Partners (ASP) is seeking a Materials Specialistfor a contract role based in Atlanta, Georgia, supporting one of our major customers. ASP specializes in sourcing and providing the worlds top MRO service, maintenance, engineering, and project management teams to deliver end-to-end MRO solutions that are cost-effective, high-quality, and reliable. What you will be doing: Materials Specialist- Department: Materials / Supply Chain Reports to: Materials Manager / Project Manager Location: Hangar / On-site (travel as needed) Position Summary The Materials Specialist ensures the right parts, kits, and documentation are available at the right time to support aircraft modification and maintenance events. This role partners closely with project management, engineering, and supply chain (including Delta teams) to plan, procure, kit, and control materials for scheduled and emergent work. Key Responsibilities • Materials Management, • Plan, procure, and stage parts/kits to meet maintenance and modification schedules; maintain kit completeness and traceability., • Create, manage, and escalate POs; coordinate shipping/receiving, vendor communications, and expediting (AOG/emergent)., • Maintain accurate inventory levels, shelf-life, and rotable/exchange tracking; reconcile discrepancies., • Technical & Engineering Literacy, • Read and interpret engineering BOMs, work cards, EOs/SBs, IPCs, and drawings to validate part numbers, alternates, and effectivity., • Partner with engineering on BOM clarifications/revisions and configuration control., • ERP & Order Management, • Create/track production orders and EO kits in ERP/MRP; ensure statuses, reservations, and backorders are current., • Record material movements, serial/lot control, and documentation (8130-3, EASA Form 1, CoC) for compliance., • Real-Time Problem Solving, • Resolve hangar floor shortages in real time; prioritize critical paths and coordinate cross-functionally to remove blockers., • Drive root cause/corrective actions for repeat shortages, late POs, and kit misses., • Communication & Collaboration, • Coordinate daily with Delta project management, engineering, and supply chain; provide clear status, risks, and ETAs., • Document deliverables, actions, and escalations; contribute to readiness and turn-up/turn-down meetings., • Project & Time Management, • Familiarity with airline modification programs such as: A350 Cargo Vent Mod, A330-900/A350-900 Avionics Upgrades, A350 Potable Water Service Mod. Required • 3+ years in aviation materials, MRO, or airline supply chain supporting maintenance/mods., • Proficiency with ERP/MRP (e.g., TRAX, AMOS, Ramco, SAP, Quantum) and Excel (lookups, pivots)., • Strong BOM literacy and ability to navigate IPC/AMM/SRM/EO/SB references., • Proven experience expediting, kitting, and resolving real-time shortages in a hangar environment., • Clear written and verbal communication; ability to coordinate with engineering and project teams (including Delta)., • APICS/ASCM CPIM or CSCP; IATA/49 CFR Dangerous Goods (Awareness) and/or HAZMAT shipping., • Forklift/power-industrial truck certification., • Kit readiness/on-time availability 98% for scheduled tasks., • Critical shortage cycle time and AOG response within target., • PO aging/backorder reduction and inventory accuracy within tolerance., • On-site role aligned to hangar schedule; overtime as needed to meet modification milestones., • Must meet airport badging requirements and pass background/drug screening., • Adhere to company safety, FAA, and customer (Delta) policies and procedures.
