Job Description The Head Bartender creates a welcoming atmosphere and is responsible for the execution of restaurant and banquet beverage sales, preparation, service, and bar management. This role functions as an active bartender and supervises bar and other service personnel to assure member and guest satisfaction through proper beverage service and presentation. In addition to these primary responsibilities, this position will provide additional assistance to all areas of the Food and Beverage Department. This position participates in the daily Tip-Pool with the additional opportunity to earn cash tips. Our restaurant operates Wed-Thurs 5-8 and Fri/Sat 5-9 pm during the spring, fall, and winter. Summer hours are Tuesday- Thurs 5-8:30pm Fri - Sat 5-9:30pm, Sunday Breakfast and Dinner 5-8 PM. Special Events can take place at all times of the year during the weekday and weekends, mornings, afternoons, and evenings. Knowledge and Skills: β’ 2-5 years of experience in hospitality preferred, experience in private clubs a plus, β’ Good with computer, ability to work efficiently in POS, β’ Well-developed verbal and written communications skills., β’ Self-starter with the ability to work autonomously when needed; ability to multi-task, β’ Customer driven, keen to exceed expectations, solutions focused and go above and beyond., β’ Ability to interact and engage with the membership to ensure proper execution of members expected experience, β’ Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and able solve issues quickly and correctly, β’ Responsible for all beverage ordering, purchasing, stocking, and maintaining inventory including N/A Beverages., β’ Monitors purchasing and receiving procedures to ensure proper quantity, quality and price for all purchases., β’ Build a team, train, and maintain teams. Staff training of beverage knowledge., β’ Works closely with our F&B team including Chef, Banquet Manager, GM, β’ Proactively help with preparation of bar materials for upcoming events, β’ Manager on Duty in restaurant during absence of GM or Restaurant Manager, β’ Assist with Opening the restaurant and Closes Club on a scheduled basis, β’ Lights, music, temperature, doors etc., β’ Works with servers to help engage our members, helping to hand sell wine and educate our team., β’ Ensures that adequate cash procedures are followed and that documentation is reported in an accurate and timely manner., β’ Assures that all standard operating procedures for revenue and cost control are in place and consistently followed., β’ Assures that all applicable club policies and procedures are followed., β’ Ensures all legal requirements are consistently followed, including wage/ hour and federal, state or local laws for food safety and the sale/consumption of alcoholic beverages., β’ Addresses member and guest complaints and advises the General Manager about appropriate corrective actions taken., β’ Monitors appearance, upkeep and cleanliness of all beverage equipment and facilities., β’ Implement and monitor sanitation and cleaning schedules. Completes accurate and timely inventory on a monthly basis β’ Helps plan internal marketing and sales promotion activities for special club events., β’ Establishes quantity and quality output standards for personnel in all positions within the department., β’ Writing and maintaining our wine list with up-to-date vintages and correct pricing and correlating buttons in the POS, β’ Curating a beer, cocktail list and spirits program with correct pricing and correlating buttons in the POS, β’ Training our bartenders on steps of service, mixology, and recipe management, β’ Work closely with our F&B team to ensure restaurant and banquet wine/beverage sales are trending up and our members are engaged and happy, β’ Researches new products and evaluates their cost and profit benefits., β’ Β· Assist colleagues whenever there is an opportunity to do so., β’ Β· Work with appropriate committees and committee chairs, professionally listening to feedback, β’ Β· Project polished, positive, confident and professional mannerisms and appearance as a representative of The Buffalo Launch Club, β’ Β· Anticipate and respond to member needs; follow up until needs are met., β’ Β· Demonstrate collaborative and respectful behavior., β’ Β· Partner with all team members to achieve goals., β’ Β· Receptive to othersβ ideas and opinions., β’ Β· Contribute to a positive work environment., β’ Β· Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to change., β’ Β· Identify opportunities to improve administrative processes., β’ Β· Make appropriate decisions using sound judgment., β’ Β· Use resources efficiently., β’ Β· Assist other departments to search for efficienciesCompany DescriptionWhen the Buffalo Launch Club was formed in 1903 it was the first Power Boat Club in North America, if not the world, and contributed much to the recognition of our area.
