Position Summary: The Senior Logistics Brokerage Manager is responsible for building, professionalizing, and scaling ACS’s affiliated logistics brokerage operation while overseeing day-to-day transportation execution. This role goes beyond coordinating shipments. It is responsible for designing brokerage workflows, establishing carrier programs, supporting pricing and margin discipline, and creating the operational structure required to grow a sustainable logistics function. The position also serves as a mentor to developing brokerage personnel, transferring industry knowledge, decision-making frameworks, and operational best practices to build long-term internal capability. Responsibilities: Brokerage Operations & Build-Out • Design and implement end-to-end brokerage workflows (quote, book, dispatch, delivery, billing, issue resolution), • Establish standard operating procedures to ensure consistency, scalability, and auditability, • Define and separate internal ACS transportation support from external brokerage operations, • Identify tools, systems, and processes needed to support volume growth Transportation Coordination • Oversee coordination of asset transportation between repossession agents, storage facilities, auctions, and buyers, • Ensure transportation timelines meet client and operational expectations, • Monitor shipments and proactively resolve delays or disruptions Carrier & Vendor Program Development • Develop carrier onboarding standards, insurance requirements, and compliance protocols, • Build and maintain a reliable, scalable carrier network, • Establish preferred carrier programs and performance expectations, • Evaluate vendor performance and implement accountability measures Pricing, Margin & Market Strategy • Support development of pricing frameworks and margin targets, • Negotiate rates with carriers while balancing cost, service quality, and reliability, • Review load-level performance to identify inefficiencies or margin leakage, • Provide insight into market conditions, capacity constraints, and rate trends Mentorship & Team Development • Serve as a mentor to junior logistics and brokerage staff, • Teach brokerage decision-making, including carrier selection, pricing judgment, and risk evaluation, • Gradually transition execution ownership to developing team members, • Support planning for future team growth and role structure Cross-Functional Coordination • Partner with Operations, Recovery, Vendor Management, and Accounting teams, • Align transportation timelines with asset recovery and disposition goals, • Ensure clean handoffs, documentation, and communication across teams Documentation, Compliance & Risk Management • Ensure all transportation documentation is complete, accurate, and audit-ready, • Establish documentation standards for scalability and compliance, • Support claims handling and carrier accountability for damages or service failures, • Issue Resolution & Continuous Improvement, • Handle complex or high-impact transportation issues and escalations, • Identify recurring operational issues and implement process improvements, • Reduce dependency on reactive problem-solving by building stronger systems Qualifications: • 7–12+ years of experience in transportation brokerage or logistics operations, • Direct experience working within a freight or transportation brokerage required, • Experience building, scaling, or formalizing logistics operations, • Strong understanding of carrier markets, pricing dynamics, and capacity management, • Proven ability to mentor and develop less-experienced team members, • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills, • Ability to manage both strategic build-out and day-to-day execution Preferred Skills: • Experience with vehicle, equipment, or asset recovery transportation, • Familiarity with auction logistics and time-sensitive asset movement, • Experience working in compliance-driven or regulated environments, • Strong vendor and carrier relationship management experience, • Experience implementing SOPs, operational frameworks, or process improvements Perks and Benefits Include: • Competitive Compensation: Annual pay for this position ranges from $100,000-$130,000, with opportunities for bonuses based on individual and company performance., • Health & Wellness: Medical, dental, and vision insurance options for employees and their families, with the company paying the majority of medical premiums (average ~65%).
