Job DescriptionPosition: Assistant Manager – U.S. Customs Brokerage Days: Monday–Friday Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Pay Range: $55,000 – $65,000 annually Workplace Type: In-office; hybrid schedule may be available after training Overview The Assistant Manager supports the Manager in maintaining an efficient and cost-effective U.S. Customs brokerage operation. This role is responsible for developing and implementing administrative systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and training staff to achieve high levels of accuracy, productivity, and service quality. Key Responsibilities • Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistent, high-quality service for all clients., • Document processes and leverage training programs to maintain best practices across the team., • Conduct regular evaluations of operational results and staff performance., • Review and validate import documentation for compliance with CBP and other regulatory agencies, including Powers of Attorney, USMCA Certificates of Origin, and other routine import documents., • Stay informed on regulatory changes affecting the client base and communicate updates as needed., • Prepare and submit documentation to U.S. Customs and Partner Government Agencies (PGAs) while maintaining required record-keeping standards., • Assist with classification, valuation, harmonized tariff research, binding rulings, duty rates, AD/CVD scope, and other PGA import requirements., • Oversee timely and accurate processing of ABI statements and management of Continuous Surety Bonds., • Perform post-entry work, including 520(d) and 514 protests, Post Summary Corrections, and administrative refunds., • Complete performance reviews for assigned staff and provide ongoing coaching and feedback. Ideal Candidate Profile • 2–5 years of experience in the Customs brokerage or import industry., • 1–2 years of management or supervisory experience., • Strong knowledge of U.S. Customs laws, tariffs, and import/export regulations., • Experience calculating and processing duties and taxes., • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and industry-relevant software., • High attention to detail and accuracy., • Strong communication skills for interaction with clients, Customs officials, and other stakeholders., • Analytical and problem-solving abilities for classification, valuation, and duty assessment., • Organizational and managerial experience, including process improvement., • Customer service skills to advise clients on Customs-related matters., • U.S. Customs Brokerage License, • NCBFAA Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) Benefits Health Insurance Paid Time Off (PTO) Equal Opportunity Employer / Disabled / Protected Veterans The Know Your Rights poster is available here: The pay transparency policy is available here: For temporary assignments lasting 13 weeks or longer, the Company is pleased to offer major medical, dental, vision, 401k and any statutory sick pay where required.
