Job Description TNP has an immediate opening in our Allen office for an experienced R.P.L.S. Team Leader to join an established survey team. This position is responsible for project planning, scheduling, and maintaining client relationships. They are also responsible for overseeing staff charged with the design, development, delivery and management of projects such as design surveys, boundary surveys, platting, construction staking, and document preparation, including geodetic control, topographic survey, right of way parcel survey/exhibits/mapping. The Team Leader position provides an excellent opportunity for personal & professional growth, participation for our mentoring program, as well as the opportunity to have a strong leadership role in the growth and development of the team. Responsibilities require being actively engaged both in the production and management of survey projects and working in collaboration with your Director in both the production and management of projects, as well as managing multiple clients and a project team. More specifically, responsibilities include: Roles: • Leader for overall team, • Manager/Coach for Project Managers and other direct reports, • Mentor for Production Team members, • Assist with outside Sales and Marketing for team, • Manager for assigned clients, • Effective project control planning, analysis and adjustments, • Conducting analysis and preparing boundary surveys, right-of-way surveys, plats, and related documents, • Organizing and scheduling work for self, field crews and office support staff to accomplish goals on multiple projects simultaneously, • Effectively managing & delivering project assignments within established budgets and timelines, • Effectively coordinating & collaborating with engineering design teams, • Establishing good communication and collaborative working relationships with team members & clients Responsibilities: • Establish and communicate team goals, • Communicate SOPs, guidelines and processes, and ensure that they are understood and followed, • Establish goals for your direct reports, • Monitor progress, performance and overall execution of your direct reports on an ongoing basis, • Approve time/effort of your direct reports, • Hire, fire, train & develop your direct reports, • Schedule regular mentoring sessions with the Production Team members under your direct reports’ supervision, • Market and sell services on behalf of TNP, including responding to new OPPS, prospects, RFPs, etc, • Approve all scopes, fees, schedules and contract agreements for your team, • Engage clients through relationship-building and/or marketing activities on regular intervals, • Prepare your own individual action plan for professional development Position Requirements: At a minimum, candidates must meet the following educational and professional requirements: Education/Registration • B.S. in Surveying or related field of study preferred, but not required, • Must be a Texas Registered Professional Land Surveyor Professional: • Responsive and results oriented in service to clients, • Five (5) years minimum experience as a Project Manager and/or Team Leader, • Knowledge of Trimble GPS equipment and Robotic total station, • Knowledgeable in Trimble Business Center, as well as Microsoft Word and Excel, • Proficient in Civil 3D and Carlson software, • Strong commitment to professional development, • Demonstrated ability to develop solid working relationships with other team members in a team-oriented environment, • Ability to effectively organize and schedule work to meet deadlines, • Demonstrated ability to meet client expectations, • Committed to professional development, • Demonstrated leadership and ability to effectively acquire, train & mentor a qualified & productive team, • Demonstrated ability to develop solid working relationships with other team members, • Demonstrated ability to schedule work to meet deadlines, • Demonstrated ability to manage & meet client expectations To learn more about TNP’s culture, visit our website at .
