Job Description Position & Client Overview: Our client, a large pathology practice located in central California, is currently seeking a board certified AP/CP pathologist to test in their busy clinical/anatomic pathology laboratory on the day shift. Job Summary: Study and diagnose causes of disease by examination of surgically removed organs, tissues (biopsy samples), blood, bodily fluids, and, in some cases, the whole body (autopsy).Interpret findings to diagnose conditions like infections, cancers, and blood disorders, often guiding critical decisions in patient care. Collaborate with healthcare teams, oversee lab operations, and contribute to research and education in the medical field. Skill Requirements: • Analytical thinking: Interpreting complex data and identifying patterns in tissue or lab results., • Attention to detail: Spotting subtle abnormalities that could indicate disease., • Communication: Explaining findings clearly to other medical professionals and sometimes patients., • Problem-solving: Making diagnostic decisions based on incomplete or ambiguous data., • Medical terminology: Fluency in the language of medicine to document and discuss cases accurately., • Team collaboration: Working closely with clinicians, lab techs, and other specialists. Responsibilities may include but not limited to: • Diagnose diseases using lab tests, tissue samples, and clinical data, • Communicate findings clearly to other healthcare professionals, • Participate in multidisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive treatment plans, • Train and mentor medical students, residents, or junior staff, • Contribute to research and academic publications, • Maintain licensure and board certification through continuing education, • Perform autopsies Education, Certification, & Experience: • MD or DO from an accredited institution, • Board certification in anatomic pathology (AP) and/or clinical pathology (CP), • Subspecialty certification as required, • Applicable state license and/or eligibility to practice medicine Must be legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
