Job Description This is a remote position. Contracts Specialist First Due, a leading public safety software platform, is searching for an organized Contracts Specialist to play a critical role in managing, reviewing, negotiating, and maintaining contracts with First Due customers and partners. The Contracts Specialist will ensure compliance with internal policies, public sector procurement rules, and client requirements to ensure contracts are managed and delivered correctly, compliantly, and on time, enabling efficient deal execution while mitigating risk. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of SaaS business models, government contracting processes, and the nuances of public safety technology partnerships. The Contracts Specialist will: · Partner with the Sales team to draft, review, and negotiate SaaS subscription agreements, data processing addenda, service level agreements, SOWs, and related documents with government and education customers. · Ensure contract terms align with company processes, business goals, and compliance requirements. · Manage redlines, version control, and documentation through the contract lifecycle. · Interpret and apply federal, state, and local government procurement regulations (e.g., FAR, state procurement codes). · Support RFP responses, vendor registrations, and bid submissions as needed. · Maintain awareness of changes in public contracting requirements and privacy laws (e.g., FERPA, CJIS, GDPR, state data laws). · Partner with Sales and Client Success teams to provide timely contract guidance during deal cycles. · Support Finance and Revenue teams in ensuring contracts meet billing and revenue recognition policies. · Help streamline workflows and develop standard templates, playbooks, and checklists to improve efficiency and consistency. Qualifications and Experience · 3–5+ years of experience in contract management, preferably with government/public sector SaaS or cloud software agreements · Strong understanding of and experience with contract law principles and public sector procurement processes · Exceptional project management skills; comfortable responding to a wide variety of tasks and requests on a day-to-day basis · Ability to manage competing priorities and timelines · Patient, responsive, and thorough, with a customer-focused outlook · Comfortable with ambiguity; strong entrepreneurial spirit and interest in building processes · Ability to balance risk management with business enablement in a fast-paced environment · Strong writing, editing, and grammar skills · Experience with Adobe Acrobat, CRM (Zoho preferred) and other business tools · Public sector / safety experience preferred · Bachelor’s degree in Business, Legal Studies, Public Administration, or a related field.
