Job Purpose: The Vice President, Payer leads the organization's payer contracting, network strategy, and market access agenda across a rapidly growing, multi-state fertility platform. This role owns the full payer relationship lifecycle — from contracting and reimbursement strategy through credentialing oversight and new benefit product market access — and serves as the organization's primary voice with national and regional payers, fertility benefit administrators, and employer-sponsored benefit programs. The VP, Payer will bring order to a complex, multi-EIN contracting landscape shaped by acquisition history, while positioning the organization to capture growth from expanding state infertility mandates and the rise of employer-purchased fertility benefits. Essential Functions and Accountabilities: Payer Contracting & Network Strategy • Own end-to-end payer contracting strategy across all markets, including rate negotiation, contract language, and renewal cycles., • Rationalize and harmonize payer contracts and reimbursement terms across legacy entities acquired through M&A, working toward consistent, defensible rate structures., • Build and maintain a payer contracting playbook, including model contract terms, escalation paths, and a centralized contract repository., • Lead value-based and alternative payment model exploration where appropriate to the fertility benefit landscape. Market Access & Payer Relations • Serve as the primary relationship owner for national payers, regional health plans, and fertility benefit administrators (e.g., Progyny, Carrot, Maven, WIN)., • Lead market access strategy for new and expanding employer-sponsored fertility benefit products, positioning the organization as a preferred provider., • Track and respond to state infertility mandate developments, ensuring the organization is positioned to capture in-network growth as coverage expands., • Represent the organization at payer, employer benefits, and industry conferences to build visibility and strategic relationships. Cross-Functional & Operational Leadership • Partner with Revenue Cycle, Legal, and Clinical Operations to ensure contract terms translate cleanly into billing, prior authorization, and reimbursement workflows., • Oversee payer-facing credentialing strategy in partnership with credentialing operations to minimize onboarding delays for new providers and acquired clinics., • Support integration of newly acquired practices into the organization's payer contracting and benefit administrator relationships., • Provide regular payer landscape reporting and contracting performance metrics to the CCO and executive leadership. PE / Board Reporting • Develop board- and investor-ready materials summarizing payer mix, contracting wins, reimbursement trends, and market access progress., • Quantify the financial impact of contracting initiatives to support enterprise value creation narratives. Qualifications Required • 8+ years of progressive experience in payer contracting, managed care, or market access, including direct payer negotiation experience., • Experience operating across multiple states and multiple legal entities/EINs in a multi-site healthcare environment., • Demonstrated success negotiating and managing contracts with national payers and/or specialty benefit administrators., • Strong understanding of healthcare reimbursement methodologies, credentialing fundamentals, and revenue cycle interdependencies., • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business, or related field. Preferred • Direct experience in fertility, women's health, or another high-growth specialty care segment., • Experience in a private equity-backed or M&A-intensive healthcare organization., • Familiarity with fertility benefit administrators and employer-purchased fertility benefit design., • MBA or advanced degree. Skills and Competencies • Expert-level negotiation skills with the ability to balance organizational economics against payer relationship durability., • Strong financial and data fluency; comfortable building and defending rate models and contracting ROI analyses., • Exceptional relationship-building skills across payer, employer, and internal operational stakeholders., • Comfortable operating with ambiguity and building structure from a fragmented, acquisition-driven starting point., • Polished executive communication and presence; credible in payer C-suite and board settings alike. Leadership Profile This role suits a builder — someone energized by creating structure where none exists, who can move fluidly between detailed contract negotiation and high-level strategic positioning. The ideal leader brings a collaborative, low-ego style that earns trust quickly with clinical operators, payers, and the executive team, while holding a firm, well-prepared line at the negotiating table. They will be comfortable as the face of the organization externally and a hands-on operator internally. JOB SUMMARY: Provides safe and appropriate pharmacy services to patients in the alternate care setting in accordance with policies and procedures, professional standards, and applicable regulatory and accrediting entities. Assesses appropriateness of therapy, dispenses medications, supplies and medical equipment, documents patient progress toward goals, intervenes as clinically appropriate and provides education regarding appropriate medication administration and use. Additional dimensions may include working with operating budget, revenue responsibility, purchasing responsibility, etc. Ensures company’s goals and objectives are aligned with the organization’s broader mission, vision, and driving strategies. Directly accountable and reports to the Pharmacy Manager or Director of Pharmacy or Operations based on branch leadership. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Demonstrates ethical pharmacy practice and ensures compliance with all company policies and procedures, state and federal pharmacy rules and regulations, professional practice standards, and accrediting entities., 2. Assesses patient's suitability for home care and appropriateness of prescribed therapy., 3. Ensures the patient database is complete and compiles the necessary information needed to design a patient-specific pharmacy plan of care with goals for therapy., 4. Recommends and writes patient-appropriate orders., 5. Assures documents that require the prescriber's or pharmacist's signature for billing are generated and obtained., 6. Assesses laboratory results and performs pharmacokinetic dosing., 7. Makes appropriate dosing recommendations and documents., 8. Initiates, creates and updates patient medication profiles., 9. Performs accurate prescription order entry to ensure medications are properly concentrated, without incompatibilities, stable and properly stored., 10. Dispenses medications and related supplies to cost-effectively meet patient needs and assures authorization for services is obtained prior to dispensing., 11. Accurately dispenses, programs, if applicable, and troubleshoots medication administration pumps., 12. Accurately submits electronic claims for medications, as applicable., 13. Documents all communication with physicians, nurses, dietitians, patients and caregivers in the patient's medical record., 14. Documents initial patient or caregiver discussion, education and counseling regarding prescribed therapy, medication use and information, infusion method, and after hours contact information., 15. Thoroughly and objectively documents the patient's course of therapy, compliance with therapy, laboratory results, and progress towards goals of therapy with therapy-appropriate frequency., 16. Ensures all compounding, clean room and anteroom activities adhere to all state and federal regulations, USP <797> standards and company policies and procedures by all pharmacy staff., 17. Ensures required documentation is completed on QA/QC records and compounding documents., 18. Completes company-required orientation and annual competencies and in services., 19. Provides concise, applicable and timely responses to requests for drug information., 20. Accurately maintains calendar for laboratory tests, compounding, delivery, and documentation updates, 21. Obtains and processes patient clinical information to allow for processing refills and supplies at least 24 hours in advance of patient's need., 22. Plans work to ensure cost-effective delivery methods are utilized., 23. Oversees the work of pharmacy support personnel and ensures their job duties are completed in a timely manner., 24. Delegates non-clinical tasks to assigned support personnel., 25. Prepares for and actively participates in patient care conferences including Nutrition Support Rounds., 26. Participates in the on-call process and documents on call activities in the patient medical record, if appropriate, and communicates with relevant personnel., 27. Assists in the training and supervision of pharmacy support personnel, pharmacy interns and pharmacy-profession students., 28. May assume role in of the Pharmacist in Charge or general branch manager during temporary absences and/or vacancies as appropriate., 29. Performs other related duties as directed by supervisor. SKILLS AND ABILITIES: • Excellent verbal and good written communication skills., • Advanced level of multi-tasking and problem-solving skills., • Moderate computer skills including MS Office, Windows Outlook, and Internet., • Moderate level of interpersonal skills to interact effectively and professionally with both internal and external customers., • Moderate mathematical skills to perform pharmaceutical calculations., • General knowledge of modern office procedures, filing, telephone techniques and office equipment. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: 1. Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (Doctor of Pharmacy or a Master’s of Science degree in Pharmacy desirable) from an accredited college of pharmacy., 2. Currently licensed as a registered pharmacist in state of employment., 3. A minimum of two years recent experience in an acute-care setting or one year recent experience in home infusion therapy, 4. Experience and strong knowledge base in intravenous admixture services and intravenous therapy., 5. Must be capable of assuming responsibility for evaluating and monitoring drug therapy relative to the total needs/problems of the home care patient in collaboration with physicians, nurses and other healthcare professionals., 6. Must be able to work effectively with others to provide safe and effective drug therapy., 7. Must demonstrate ability to problem solve and supervise technical and other support staff., 8. Must be flexible with work schedule., 9. Good organizational and time-management skills., 10. Participation and membership in professional societies and organizations is desirable., 11.
