Job Description Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Feed Mill Maintenance Tech install, maintain, and repair heavy industrial equipment in a California feed mill environment. This role focuses on mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and requires strong welding, fabrication, and troubleshooting skills. The ideal candidate ensures efficient, safe, and GMP-compliant feed production through preventative maintenance and timely repairs. Key Responsibilities Installation & Assembly Install and assemble conveyors, feed bins, bucket elevators, crushers, and screening equipment. Maintenance & Repair Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on mill equipment. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical breakdowns. Replace and repair bearings, pumps, motors, belts, chains, and other components. Respond to emergency repairs to minimize downtime. Systems & Technical Work Maintain and troubleshoot power transmission, hydraulic, pneumatic, and vacuum systems. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals. Fabrication & Welding Perform welding and fabrication using arc welding, cutting torches, milling machines, and lathes to repair or create components. Safety & Compliance Follow all safety procedures including PPE and lockout/tagout. Comply with GMPs and SOPs. Maintain clean and organized work areas. Complete required documentation and records accurately. Equipment Operation Safely operate forklifts, cranes, hoists, and other lifting devices to move heavy materials and equipment. Documentation Maintain detailed maintenance logs, repair records, and data entry as required. Essential Skills & Qualifications Strong mechanical aptitude with industrial machinery. Experience with power transmission and fluid power systems. Proficient welding and fabrication skills. Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematics. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities. Physically able to lift heavy objects and work in confined spaces. Comfortable working in noisy, dusty, and industrial environments. Experience: Minimum of 5 years in industrial maintenance, millwright work, or apprenticeship training preferred. Feed mill or agricultural/industrial manufacturing experience is a plus. Work Environment Noisy, dusty, and warm conditions. Exposure to chemicals, vapors, and moving machinery. Schedule may include nights, weekends, and holidays, especially during peak production periods.
