Job DescriptionDescription: Job Summary The Busser is responsible for maintaining a clean and pleasant dining experience by clearing, sanitizing, and resetting tables, ensuring the dining room is well-stocked and tidy. Responsible providing friendly, prompt, and attentive service. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, other duties may be assigned. Maintain complete knowledge of: • All Cavatina features/services, hours of operation, policies, and procedures., • Cavatina layout- overall restaurant and table setup., • Kitchen layout- work areas and stations., • Scheduled hotel events and activities., • Maintain confidentiality of guest and hotel information., • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the proper uniform and nametag., • Attend to guest needs and requests in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and professional manner., • Consistently check, restock, and maintain proper par levels in server stations., • Clear tables of dinnerware and linen during and after each service., • Clean and sanitize tables and chairs prior to resetting after each seating., • Maintain appropriate stock levels of glassware, silverware, and dishware., • Refill non-alcoholic beverages as requested and needed., • Refill salt, pepper, and other condiments, as necessary., • Properly and thoroughly set-up all server areas and complete all opening, closing, and side work duties during shift., • Continuously observe guests to ensure that they are satisfied with food, beverages, and service; immediately recognize and respond to guest’s needs and/or requests., • Assist servers and runners, when needed., • Ensure clear, concise, efficient, and appropriate communication at all times with team members., • Ensure cleanliness, sanitation, and functionality of work areas. Report any malfunctions and/or damages to management., • Clean and maintain coffee machines and other equipment, as assigned., • Follow the maintenance program and cleaning schedule as assigned., • Resolve generic guest complaints and inform management of any situations where a guest may express further concern or dissatisfaction., • Assist with in-house events setup, breakdown, and service as needed., • Abide by all control, regulations, laws, and procedures related to food/alcohol service, safety, and sanitation., • Must be able to cross-train in other Food & Beverage related areas., • Work cohesively with co-workers, outlets, and departments while maintaining a positive “can do” attitude., • Must be able to work under minimal supervision., • Displays a high level of professional integrity and ethical conduct., • Displays professional appearance and presence, abiding by company standards., • Maintain calmness and composure under high levels of pressure., • Adapt to frequent change, fast paced environment, delays, or unexpected events., • Strives to continuously build knowledge and skills., • Pays close attention to details., • Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner., • Ability to multitask and uses time efficiently and effectively., • Demonstrates strong organizational and communication skills., • Ability to be a clear thinker, analyze and resolve problems, while exercising good judgment., • Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness, while maintaining a sense of urgency., • Is dependable and demonstrates an outstanding attendance record and is punctual., • Constantly look for ways to improve and promote quality., • Completes work in timely manner and meets specified deadlines., • Observes and abides by all safety, sanitation, and security procedures., • Uses equipment and materials properly., • Follows instructions, responds to management direction. This job does not have any supervisory responsibilities. Requirements: Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or a minimum of 1 year of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Luxury hotel/fine dining experience preferred. High volume, fast-paced restaurant/bar experience preferred. Language Skills Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Mathematical Skills Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Computer Skills N/A Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Food Handlers card is required. Other Skills and Abilities Intermediate English skills- verbal. Additional language(s) is a plus. Other Qualifications Must be able to pass drug and background screening. Must have flexible work availability- all shifts, weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
