Job Description CAM Design Co. is a contemporary design studio producing heirloom-quality furniture and home goods. We pair high quality materials with an obsessive approach to craft. Description: We are currently seeking an experienced woodworker with 5+ years of experience to work full time in our production studio. Candidates must have the ability to consistently build high quality furniture while maintaining a clean and organized workspace. This is a part-time production position, 9-5pm, on site job. Salary will be commensurate with experience ranging from $25 to $35 an hour. The position requires physical labor and the ability to be on your feet for most of the day. Applicants must have relevant professional experience building hardwood furniture in an industrial woodshop setting. Furniture school or hobbyist level experience alone is not qualify. Candidates must be organized and methodical, possessing the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously to meet production calendar deadlines. Technical training will be provided for unique CAM Design Co. production methods. Additional support will be provided as needed; however, once fully on. boarded, applicants must be able to work well autonomously and complete builds from detailed production drawings provided. Qualifications • Experience with woodworking tools and machinery, • Skills in measuring, cutting, and assembling furniture pieces, • Knowledge of different types of wood and materials used in furniture making, • Ability to read and interpret design blueprints, • Attention to detail and precision in craftsmanship, • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot issues during assembly, • Physical stamina and dexterity required for cutting, assembling, and finishing furniture, • Excellent teamwork and communication skills, • Ability to maintain a clean and safe working environment Production Responsibilities: • Execute furniture production to the highest quality meeting project deadlines, • Maintain a well-organized and clean shop space, • Receive building materials and supplies, adding to digital inventory as needed, • Hand select hardwood best suited for different parts of a project, • Help keep an accurate inventory of material and furniture parts in house, • Assist with the other various odd jobs when necessary, • Assist in local pick-ups and deliveries as needed Skills & Requirements: • Minimum five years of experience building furniture professionally, • Detail oriented, • Ability to read drawings and build to specifications provided, • Experience with working machinery: sliding table saw, jointer, planer, radial saw, band saw, lathe, • Knowledge of safe hand tool practices and experience in machine set up and general safety measures, • Knowledge of different building materials, wood species and hardwood characteristics, • Must possess the ability to distinguish variations in color, • Finishing experience is a plus: Spray and hand applied techniques, • Ability to accurately measure and quickly do simple math required to build to specification, • Ability to solve problems quickly and effectively, • Ability to work independently and with a small team, • Ability to produce high quality work at a quick and intentional pace, • Must be punctual and reliable with good communication skills, • Ability to lift and move heavy items, the majority of our work is heavy Applicants must include the following to be considered for the position: • Cover letter - Briefly address how your experience makes you well suited for this position, • Resume - List of most recent employers with names, addresses and phone numbers, • Portfolio - Include images of relevant hardwood furniture and production projects that you completed from start to finish 4.
