Job Description We are seeking an experienced Extraction Lab Manager / Senior Extraction Specialist to lead the development and operation of a commercial cannabis extraction lab. This is a key role for a highly skilled professional with a proven background in building extraction systems from the ground up and producing high-quality cannabis products in a regulated environment. The ideal candidate has deep hands-on experience across multiple extraction methods and a strong record of producing rosin, distillate, and high-terpene extracts at a commercial level. This individual should be equally comfortable with technical execution, facility buildout, compliance, process development, and team leadership. Responsibilities • Lead the setup, commissioning, and operation of a commercial cannabis extraction lab, • Build commercial extraction workflows and systems from scratch, • Develop, document, and optimize SOPs for extraction, post-processing, refinement, and packaging workflows, • Produce and refine cannabis products including rosin, distillate, and high-terpene extract, • Operate and optimize systems involving ethanol, CO2, and hydrocarbon/butane extraction, • Oversee equipment selection, installation, maintenance coordination, and process design, • Ensure adherence to all safety, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance standards, • Monitor yield, consistency, throughput, and overall production efficiency, • Train, manage, and mentor lab personnel, • Maintain accurate batch records, production logs, and QC documentation, • Significant professional experience in commercial cannabis extraction, • Proven experience setting up commercial extraction systems from scratch, • Strong hands-on experience with ethanol, CO2, and butane/hydrocarbon extraction, • Demonstrated success producing rosin, distillate, and high-terpene extracts, • Deep understanding of post-processing techniques including winterization, filtration, distillation, terpene preservation, and refinement, • Strong knowledge of lab safety standards, operational controls, and regulatory best practices, • Excellent troubleshooting, organizational, and communication skills, • Experience in the New York State legal cannabis market, • Familiarity with New York cannabis regulations, compliance requirements, and operational standards This is an opportunity to play a foundational role in building a high-performing extraction operation from the ground up.
