Job DescriptionSalary: $120,000 Duncan Solutions, LLC, a subsidiary of Business Processing Solutions, LLC, is a full-service transportation management company and a leading provider of parking and tolling management solutions. We support municipal and commercial clients with citation processing, debt collection, DMV registered owner identification, back-office transaction processing, image review, customer service center and customer experience (CX) operations, and integrated on-street parking management services. WORKING HOURS Monday-Friday 8:00 AM 5:00 PM POSITION SUMMARY The Director of Data Science will be responsible for building and scaling Duncans analytics, machine learning, and AI capabilities to deliver actionable insights and measurable impact for clients, operations, and financial performance. This hands-on leader will harness Duncans growing data assets to drive client outcomes (e.g., compliance, revenue optimization, customer experience) as well as internal efficiencies (e.g., collections effectiveness, workforce productivity, margin expansion). The ideal candidate combines technical expertise in AWS-native AI/ML environments with strong business acumen, translating models and insights into operational and financial results. This role is both strategic and executionalbuilding the foundation of Duncans data science capability while also delivering high-impact projects. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Design, build, and scale predictive and prescriptive models leveraging AWS-native tools (e.g., SageMaker, QuickSight, Redshift, DataBricks on AWS)., • Deliver insights that directly improve client outcomes (e.g., revenue recovery rates, compliance performance) and internal KPIs (e.g., cost-to-collect, workforce allocation, client profitability)., • Partner with Finance, Operations, Sales, and Technology teams to translate business challenges into data science initiatives with measurable ROI., • Lead advanced analytics initiatives including churn prediction, collections optimization, fraud detection, and customer segmentation., • Build data pipelines and experimentation frameworks to enable continuous learning and iteration., • Evaluate and implement automation opportunities (e.g., natural language processing for correspondence, anomaly detection for payments, intelligent agent workflows)., • Collaborate with FP&A, BI, and ERP teams to ensure alignment of reporting, forecasting, and operational dashboards., • Champion a data-driven culture, helping business leaders understand and adopt AI/ML-driven decision making., • Establish best practices in model governance, monitoring, and bias mitigation. EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE / SKILLS Required • 5+ years of progressive experience in data science, analytics, or machine learning roles, ideally within a tech-enabled, services, or PE-backed company including 3+ years in a leadership role., • Demonstrated success deploying machine learning models in production on AWS (SageMaker, Redshift, QuickSight, DataBricks, Lambda, etc.)., • Proven ability to translate complex technical work into tangible operational/financial impact., • Strong programming skills (Python, R, SQL) and familiarity with ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn)., • Experience with data visualization and dashboarding for executive and client audiences., • Excellent communication and storytelling skills with the ability to influence decision-making at the executive level., • Collaborative, entrepreneurial, and hands-on leader with the ability to both execute independently and build a scalable team., • Track record of implementing data science solutions that materially improved business performance. Preferred • Bachelors or Masters degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or related field. PhD in quantitative field is a plus., • 812 years of progressive experience in data science, analytics, or machine learning roles, ideally within a tech-enabled, services, or PE-backed company., • Track record of driving digital transformation and building new capabilities from the ground up. DECISION-MAKING LATITUDE • Operates with a high degree of autonomy under the CIO structure., • Accountable for setting strategy, prioritizing initiatives, and allocating resources within the data science function., • Provides thought leadership and decision support on enterprise-wide AI/ML initiatives that directly impact financial and operational outcomes.
