The Center currently has over 100 staff working at 11 facilities across San Diego County. POSITION SUMMARY The Trans & Nonbinary Services Manager is responsible for developing accessible and equitable programming for the transgender, nonbinary, agender, demi-gender, gender-fluid, two-spirit genderqueer, intersex, gender nonconforming, questioning, and exploring community. The manager's responsibilities include but are not limited to managing the program's activities, providing direction to staff to ensure that program services and processes meet client needs and contract expectations, collaborating across departments/programs to ensure advocacy and advancement of the transgender and nonbinary community. The manager champions a collaborative approach to services delivery that is trauma-informed and goal-oriented. Must have lived and professional experience navigating various institutions and governmental agencies. This position reports directly to the Director of Community Programs and provides supervision to the Project TRANS Case Manager & Peer Support Advocate. PRIMARY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES Program Management: • Designs, oversees, and supports the implementation of program groups, activities, and events; working collaboratively to develop program goals and ensure best outcomes and program, • Plan and manage all large Project TRANS events, such as Transgender Day of Remembrance, Transgender Day of Visibility, Transgender Day of Empowerment, flag raisings/lowering, etc., • Work directly with all Project TRANS Discussion Group volunteer facilitators, offering guidance, facilitating regular check-ins, assisting in troubleshooting issues, and, • Identify organizations and secure partnerships for collaborations and referrals to benefit program clients and community Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with partnering agencies, stakeholders, and other service providers, securing Memorandum of Understandings (MOU), when appropriate., • Partner with The Center's Civic Engagement team to coordinate about policies, bills, state legislation, and federal laws that are transgender and nonbinary inclusionary/exclusionary., • In collaboration with the Director of Community Programs, navigate cross program collaboration, filling service gaps, and ensuring all departments within The Center are trans-inclusive and accessible to both our gender expansive community and those questioning their gender, • Partner with The Center's communications team to routinely update Project TRANS Marketing and Communication strategies to ensure the most accurate and up-to-date language are used; working collaboratively with the team to highlight and celebrate awareness months, weeks, and, • In collaboration with The Center's Volunteer Manager, work to increase the number and visibility of transgender, nonbinary, and gender expansive Center, • Partner with The Center's Training Institute, creating educational opportunities to help eliminate transphobia and homophobia within our region, for Center staff, volunteers, partner organizations and community members (as needed)., • Consult with various community leaders and agencies to increase cultural sensitivity and improve transgender and nonbinary common practices., • Provides direct supervision and support to Project TRANS program, • Collaborates with the people and culture team to initiate the hiring process of Project TRANS staff, leads interviews, and is involved in hiring, • Provides staff development support, mentoring, onboarding, and, • Develops work plans in collaboration with program, • Tracks and analyzes program outcomes and guides program activities to ensure contract, • Tracks program expenditures and, • Completes and submits program, • Ensures that program documentation adheres to HIPAA, • Reviews participant program documentation to ensure timely completion and, • Education and/or Experience:, • 2-4 years of management experience, including staff supervision., • Minimum of 4 years of experience working in direct social services or social justice, organizing roles, preferably within or serving the transgender and nonbinary community., • Experience navigating the San Diego trans and nonbinary community and LGBTQ+ organizations., • Other Skills:, • Must demonstrate competence in working with diverse populations, ability to manage multiple tasks with shifting priorities, and work in various team settings. Must also demonstrate sound judgment and decision-making skills, the ability and availability to work evenings and weekends, and travel locally throughout the region when necessary. Lived experience as a member of a historically under-served community (i.e., low-income, BIPOC communities, LGBTQ+ communities, immigrant communities, etc.) preferred. Event/program management, grant support/management., • Technical Skills: Must be comfortable working in PC/Windows-based environments. Must have proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Outlook, and Excel. Experience with using electronic health records is preferred., • Education and/or Experience:3 years of professional/lived experience in program development/management in the trans and nonbinary community., • Compensation: The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $30.00/hour and is commensurate with experience. This is a Full-Time, Regular Non-Exempt position.
