MISSION STATEMENT: We transform lives and communities through the power of education, training and employment. PURPOSE OF POSITION: To fulfill Goodwill’s mission statement. To develop, plan, and implement outreach activities and events as directed by the Director of Community Engagement. Represent Goodwill’s SERVICE values and mission to internal and external stakeholders. Maintain accurate records related to outreach activities and events and provide timely reports as requested. Collaborate with leadership to coordinate and schedule events and outreach activities. Identify and present leadership with community events in the local and regional area that will provide opportunity for participation and connection. Maintain an accessible and clear calendar of outreach and events. Provide leadership reports on potential relationships with area partners for mission collaboration. Responsible for outreach activity and event space setup and cleanup. Other assigned duties and/or projects as deemed necessary by the Director of Community Engagement. SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Director of Community Engagement. SUPERVISION EXERCISED: None. QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION: • High school diploma required. Associate or bachelor’s degree in human services, psychology, business, social work, or another related field strongly preferred., • Valid driver's license required. SPECIAL SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE: • One to two years of experience in community outreach, engagement, and/or marketing and communications strongly preferred., • Experience working with diverse populations., • Bilingual in English/Spanish strongly preferred., • Excellent verbal and written communication skills., • Proficient in Microsoft 365 and Teams strongly preferred., • Internet savvy and organized. ORGANIZATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Represent Goodwill’s values and mission to internal and external stakeholders. Tracking and providing outreach related metrics to leadership. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Have a comprehensive understanding of Goodwill Industries of Kansas, to include mission services, retail, and manufacturing services to assess opportunities for external collaboration., • Maintain a flexible schedule to include evenings and some weekends, including occasional overnight stays as needed., • Willingness to travel throughout Goodwill Industries of Kansas’ territory., • Develop and maintain partnerships with businesses, organizations, and agencies., • Participate in scheduling, coordinating, and implementing outreach activities and events., • Provide professional and courteous demeaner with internal and external stakeholders., • Provide excellent customer service during outreach events and activities. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Provides logistical support for activities and events, including but not limited to set-up, tear-down and preparation of materials., • Collects and compiles data to capture information regarding outreach visits, individuals served, services provided, materials circulated, feedback received and requests for information., • Responds to outreach inquiries in a timely and professional manner., • Manages and replenishes outreach materials as needed to be prepared for events and activities., • Submits reports and projects to supervisor in timely and accurate manner., • Prioritizes tasks in accordance with established procedures related to areas of responsibility., • Adheres to all safety policies and report violations., • Adheres to all ethical standards and confidentiality of records., • Supports mission statement and program outcomes., • Supports the accessibility of our services and facilities free of architectural, attitudinal, environmental, financial, communication, transportation, employment, and other barriers to person with disabilities and barriers to employment., • Responsible for the safety and wellbeing of all participants, students and employees., • Other duties as assigned.
