Job Description Electrical Maintenance Technician Location: Syracuse, NY 13204 Pay Rate: $32/hour We are seeking a reliable and mechanically skilled Electrical Maintenance Technician to support daily Operations and Maintenance (O&M) activities at groundwater treatment facilities in Syracuse, NY. This position serves as a second set of hands for the Plant Electrician, assisting with routine electrical tasks, equipment inspections, system monitoring, and safe work practices across the site. The role also includes hands-on mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting of treatment equipment. Key Responsibilities • Support the Plant Electrician during electrical maintenance and troubleshooting activities, including inspections, repairs, lockout/tagout procedures, and equipment testing, • Perform daily Operations & Maintenance (O&M) tasks at groundwater treatment plants and associated facilities, • Assist with operation and maintenance of water treatment equipment, including pumps, motors, valves, piping systems, filtration units, and process instrumentation, • Demonstrate strong electrical safety awareness when working around energized equipment, control panels, motors, and sensors, • Perform in-depth mechanical equipment repair, including pump rebuilds, lubrication, component replacement, mechanical cleaning, and lancing of conveyance lines, • Troubleshoot operational issues involving both mechanical and electrical systems, • Conduct routine site inspections, verify proper system operation, and document field conditions and data, • Communicate equipment deficiencies, repair needs, and recommended solutions to supervisors and team members, • Utilize or learn PLC and SCADA systems for monitoring and operational support (prior experience helpful, not required), • Support additional site tasks as needed, including construction equipment operation, building and grounds maintenance, assisting sampling crews, and general facility support, • Follow all safety policies and site procedures at all times Qualifications • Mechanical aptitude with hands-on equipment repair and troubleshooting experience, • Strong electrical awareness and ability to work safely around energized systems, • Experience with water or wastewater treatment equipment preferred, • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, • HAZWOPER certification
