Job DescriptionNow Hiring: Pipe Yard Maintenance TechnicianLocation: Midland, TexasPosition Summary --We are seeking a skilled and dependable Pipe Yard Maintenance Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on inspection equipment and support machinery used in pipe yard operations. --This position is responsible for ensuring all inspection systems, hydraulic power units, hydro testers, cleaning machines, bucking units, forklifts, utility vehicles, and related equipment remain safe, reliable, and operational. -- ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical and troubleshooting abilities, experience working on industrial equipment, and a commitment to minimizing downtime while maintaining a safe work environment. Experience working on EMI inspection equipment is highly preferred. --This position requires travel between company facilities and vendors to pick up parts, equipment, and supplies. The successful candidate must maintain a clean, valid driver's license and be comfortable operating company vehicles throughout Texas and New Mexico as business needs require. --While employees are home every night, this role may require long days, extended hours, overtime, occasional weekends, and emergency callouts to support operational demands. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Equipment Maintenance & Repair, • Perform preventive maintenance on all inspection and production equipment., • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems., • Maintain and repair EMI inspection equipment and associated support systems., • Service and maintain pipe cleaning machines, hydrotest units, bucking machines, and material handling equipment., • Diagnose and repair hydraulic power units (HPUs), pumps, motors, valves, cylinders, hoses, and fittings., • Perform routine oil changes, fluid checks, filter replacements, and lubrication programs., • Inspect equipment for wear, damage, leaks, and safety concerns., • Maintain forklifts, utility vehicles, generators, compressors, and other support equipment., • Replace bearings, chains, sprockets, belts, rollers, seals, and other mechanical components., • Read hydraulic schematics, equipment manuals, and maintenance procedures., • Respond to equipment breakdowns and minimize operational downtime.Transportation & Parts Procurement, • Operate company vehicles to pick up maintenance parts, equipment, tools, and supplies from vendors., • Travel between company facilities and operational locations as needed., • Drive to locations throughout West Texas and New Mexico in support of maintenance operations., • Ensure company vehicles are operated safely and maintained in accordance with company policies., • Documentation & Operations Support, • Maintain maintenance logs, service records, and equipment inspection reports., • Coordinate with operations personnel to schedule repairs and maintenance activities., • Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and modifications., • Maintain inventory of maintenance parts, fluids, filters, and consumables., • Ensure compliance with company safety procedures and lockout/tagout requirements. QualificationsRequired, • High School Diploma or GED., • Minimum of 3 years of industrial maintenance, heavy equipment maintenance, or related mechanical maintenance experience., • Clean, valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record., • Experience troubleshooting hydraulic systems and hydraulic power units., • Experience performing preventive maintenance programs., • Knowledge of lubrication systems, oil changes, and fluid management., • Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment., • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, hydraulic schematics, and equipment drawings., • Willingness to work overtime, extended hours, weekends, and occasional emergency callouts as needed.Preferred, • Experience working in pipe yards, oilfield service facilities, machine shops, or industrial maintenance environments., • Experience working on EMI inspection equipment., • Forklift maintenance experience., • Knowledge of hydrotesting systems and pipe processing equipment., • Electrical troubleshooting experience involving motors, sensors, controls, and instrumentation., • Welding and fabrication experience., • OSHA safety training or industrial maintenance certifications., • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities., • Hydraulic diagnostics and repair expertise., • Preventive maintenance planning and execution., • Root-cause analysis and equipment diagnostics., • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities., • Strong organizational and time-management skills., • Excellent safety awareness and commitment to quality workmanship., • Ability to communicate effectively with operations, maintenance, and management personnel.Physical Requirements, • Ability to lift to 75 pounds., • Frequent standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, and bending., • Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions., • Ability to safely work around heavy equipment and moving machinery., • Ability to use hand and power tools for extended periods.Working Conditions Industrial pipe yard environment., • Exposure to dust, noise, vibration, hydraulic fluids, lubricants, and varying weather conditions., • Regular travel between company facilities and vendor locations., • Home nightly; however, long days and extended work hours may be required to meet operational demands., • Occasional overtime, weekend work, and emergency callouts may be required.
