Job Description SUMMARY We are seeking a Spray Dry Operator to support laboratory and pilot-scale production activities involving spray drying and flavor development processes. This temporary opportunity is ideal for someone with a scientific background who enjoys hands-on technical work in a laboratory or food/flavor production environment. The role involves operating spray drying equipment, preparing emulsions and materials, assisting technical staff with product development, and ensuring accurate documentation of processes and results while maintaining safe laboratory practices. RESPONSIBILITIES · Operate and monitor spray drying equipment while understanding system mechanics and performance parameters. · Prepare and manage spray dry emulsions used in production and development activities. · Identify and resolve minor equipment or process issues to keep operations running efficiently. · Maintain detailed operational records and documentation related to spray drying activities. · Track and manage inventory levels of raw materials used for spray drying processes. · Assist technical staff in developing and compounding flavor formulations and related technologies. · Prepare raw materials and finished product samples for evaluation and internal use. · Perform routine physical testing to verify product specifications and support development work. · Participate in sensory evaluations to assess product characteristics and performance. · Support general laboratory upkeep including cleaning, organization, and equipment maintenance. · Follow all safety guidelines and operational procedures during laboratory and production activities. · Handle materials and equipment safely, including lifting materials weighing up to approximately 50 pounds. QUALIFICATIONS · Associate degree in Chemistry or a related scientific field required. · Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Food Science, or similar discipline preferred. · Previous technical experience in the flavor, food, or related industry is beneficial. · Comfortable operating laboratory equipment and working in a technical environment. · Basic computer skills and familiarity with standard software applications. · Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate documentation. · Ability to troubleshoot minor equipment or process issues. · Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively within a technical team.
