Job Description The FFT Therapist provides FFT (Functional Family Therapy) virtually, to a maximum of 10 voluntarily participating families at a time who reside in NYC. The target population of young adults (16-25 years old), who are referred to us after an arrest. This is a pilot program to offer FFT to families and young people who might otherwise find themselves incarcerated without this alternative. FFT is an evidence-based model which is home-based, intensive, family therapy. The FFT Therapist participates in all FFT training and consultation activities, and program reviews. In addition to providing Family Therapy, the FFT Therapist will collaborate with other service providers, including but not limited to the Mayor’s Office of Criminal Justice (MOCJ) and New York City Criminal Justice Agency (CJA). The FFT Therapist is required to complete all FFT documentation requirements, including meeting appropriate therapeutic and engagement requirements and assessing for family safety and risk. The Justice Center’s Alternatives to Incarceration programming provides judges, prosecutors, and defense attorneys with alternative community sentencing options that hold individuals accountable in a way that is meaningful, proportionate, and restorative. The goal is to provide participants with individual and group services that help them to avoid future contact with the justice system and promote swift case resolutions that bolster public confidence in justice. Reporting to the Clinical Coordinator, the Case Manager will be responsible for the monitoring and case management of program participants, referring participants to voluntary social service interventions, and helping promote compliance with pre-plea and post-plea conditions. Job Description Job Title: Case Coordinator, Bronx SRP Job Summary: CASES (Center for Alternative Sentencing and Employment Services) is currently seeking a Case Coordinator for our Bronx Pretrial Services team. Rapidly after release into the Supervised Release Program (SRP), the Case Coordinator conducts Supervision Introduction/Orientation meetings with new participants to review supervision conditions required under the supervision plan. In this role, you will help participants comply with their supervision appointments and court appearances during their legal case's pendency. You will also conduct ongoing service need assessments with participants and develop collaborative service plans addressing identified needs and goals. You will ensure participants receive services that are strengths-based, gender-specific, and culturally sensitive while adhering to the core principles of risk, need and responsivity to reduce recidivism, increase engagement in community treatment services and support participants to achieve their self-identified goals for treatment, recovery, rehabilitation, and crime-free community integration. CASES’ Supervised Release Program (SRP) annually diverts 5,500 people otherwise facing pretrial detention at Rikers Island to community-based supervision and support services. Program participants include youth and young adults, people with substance use disorders and mental illnesses, and individuals who are homeless. SRP participants have not been found guilty of a crime and are not mandated to engage in treatment or other services. This requires staff to tactfully deliver approaches to help participants tap into their intrinsic motivation to leverage their strengths and skills for meaningful life improvements while fulfilling all court requirements. (WSFSSH) is a community‐based organization whose mission is to provide safe, affordable housing with supportive services within a residential setting which enhances the independence and dignity of each person. WSFSSH develops and manages housing and provides social services for low‐income older persons, many of whom live with mental illness and/or have experienced homelessness. WSFSSH currently owns and operates nearly 2400 units in 29 buildings located in Manhattan and the Bronx. In this newly created position, the Area Manager will report to the Deputy Director/Chief Operating Officer and is responsible for the oversight, smooth and safe operation of buildings owned and operated by WSFSSH. The CASES Court Services department services court mandates or endorsed programming at all points in the criminal legal process. CASES operates, alternative to detention (ATD) and alternative to incarceration (ATI) community-based programs that are facilitated by the NYS Office of Court Administration (OCA) judiciary. CASES interfaces with multiple stakeholders to support these ATD and ATI program options for thousands of defendants in multiple boroughs. Specifically, the arraignment team screens approximately 10,000 defendants a year for ATD and ATI programs, Supervised Release and Newstart.
