THE POSITION The Health and Wellness Specialist is a strategic, traveling clinical leadership role that provides interim Health and Wellness Director (HWD) support to assigned senior living communities across the portfolio. This position is deployed to communities experiencing a vacancy in the HWD role or those requiring additional clinical leadership and operational support. The Specialist supports communities across the company’s footprint, which includes Arizona, California, Colorado, Georgia, Maryland, Nevada, North Carolina, Oregon, Utah, Virginia, and Washington. In this role, you will ensure residents' health and wellness through comprehensive initial and ongoing assessments, monitoring of physical and psychosocial needs, and close collaboration with other departments to deliver exceptional care. You will provide hands-on training, supervision, and coaching to community clinical teams, fostering a positive and engaged work environment. The Health and Wellness Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day clinical operations of each assigned community, ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies and standards. This position requires 100% travel, following either a 10-day-on, 4-day-off schedule or a Monday–Friday schedule, depending on the community location and operational needs. Education and certifications: • A current RN nursing license in good standing, preferably within the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC)., • An associate degree or higher in nursing is preferred, or a combination of education and experience. Additional coursework in management is an asset., • At least four (4) years working in geriatric nursing, including experience with medication administration, delivery systems, and pharmacies., • At least two (2) years in a supervisory/management role; experience with budgets, staff development, training, and scheduling., • Experience in Memory Care is preferred., • Outstanding organizational skills., • Proficient in computer literacy and good knowledge of the Microsoft suite., • Capacity to be on-call 24/7 while assigned to a specific community, responding to clinical questions and emergencies. Staffing-related on-call responsibilities are shared collaboratively with the broader community leadership team., • Meet all mandatory health requirements according to state regulations., • Has compassion and a special interest in working with the senior population.
